Given it's a whole new component set, smaller than the upcoming modular transverse MQB architecture, not much is known of the upcoming small car platform planned to underpin the upcoming Audi A2. Various Volkswagen-branded Up! concept cars have been shown at auto show after auto show but that's the closest we've seen of the so-called "Up-platform" until now. CAR Magazine has published spy photos of a production
Executives at Audi have not been terribly secretive about the upcoming successor to the ahead-of-its-time Audi A2. This time around the car is expected to make use of a shared platform and not an Audi Space Frame made of aluminum in order to keep costs in line. An upright 5-door is most likely and thus far we've seen no shortage of photoshop renders usually based off of a Volkswagen Up! concept and usually tacked on with Audi
Car & Driver European contributor Jens Meiners has published a driving review of the A1 following its launch with the European press last week. We're always impressed with Meiners' grasp of the Audi brand and accuracy in Audi intel on future product so we read the piece with interest.

Audi has already alluded to the fact that the car will eventually be based on the same platform as the VW concept so the choice is not a reach though it should be mentioned that not even a drawing of the upcoming A2 has been released
The Financial Times is reporting today that Audi board member Pter Schwarzenbauer recently commented about the upcoming Audi A2 and a likely 'app store' that would go along with it. According to FT, the A2 is aimed at consumers who dwell in large cities over 5-million people. The mentioned app store that supports the A2 would be an online entity where owners of the car can download apps from their own home and allow them to customize the
We regularly sing the praises of Georg Kacher, contributor for mags like Automobile, UK-based CAR and more. The German automotive journalist is in like flynn with many German auto executives including those at Audi which has all combined to earn him E.F. Hutton status in these pages. Kacher's just published a piece with the cool render
AutoCar has run a piece this week on a new second-generation Audi A2. Audi executives have confirmed this model to many of the press including Fourtitude. Most of those mentions have also confirmed the likelihood of electric drive and a foregoing of an Audi Space Frame like the first generation in order to keep costs in line. This is all mentioned in the AutoCar piece so no new news here but the British
