It's not like we were questioning whether the upcoming Audi Q6 had been dropped from Audi's development plans, but confirmation of the car by the Volkswagen Group's design boss are worth a mention and they come from Automotive News Europe via Autoblog.
If you've been keeping track, Audi will now be in charge of initial development of large (longitudinal engine fitment)
We've got one more photo from this week's score of test mules spied running through their paces in Argentina this week. One of the cars in the convoy we originally reported about on Monday was definitely an A6 Avant. This rear shot of that car provided to us by our spy photographer sources reveals it's not just an A6 Avant either but likely one with allroad treatment.
The next-generation Audi Q7 will be over 880 lbs. (400 kg) lighter than the current Q7.

New A6 mules have been seen recently from Nurburgring to public roads but this is one of the first findings of the car on American soil and, while we're at it, essentially
Our buddy Tony Dewhurst over at PistonSpy has nabbed the latest set of A6 test mule spy photos. It appears a heavily camouflaged A6 sedan was at the Nurburgring this morning going through the usual testing shakedown.
As you can see Tony nabbed many shots of the car so make sure to go over to his blog and check them out.
Somehow we missed this round of spy photos last week but two readers independently sent us links to sites publishing them including Spyshots.nl and Car & Driver. We already know quite a bit about the new A6, that it will be based on a version of the Audi MLB architecture and is close in size to the A7. Interestingly though, this near undisguised shot shows more of a rounded A4-ish nose than the A8 or especially
