Just in from spy photographers in the coldest areas of Sweden are shots of one very interesting looking black A6-based Avant. With more aggressive front fascia (spotted on some earlier test mules) a wider track and add-on fender flares, there's no doubting that this is a preproduction prototype of the RS 6 Avant. Big ceramic brakes underneath A8 wheels
Also out testing this week is what appears to be the next-generation A6 allroad. The mule is so heavily camouflaged unlike the shot of the one testing in South America several weeks ago, one might have mistaken it for an A6... but my camouflage an A6 Avant when that's already been seen? The answer of course is that this is an allroad. We've compared these new
We've got one more photo from this week's score of test mules spied running through their paces in Argentina this week. One of the cars in the convoy we originally reported about on Monday was definitely an A6 Avant. This rear shot of that car provided to us by our spy photographer sources reveals it's not just an A6 Avant either but likely one with allroad treatment.
InsideLine has pitted the all-new Audi A6 against its arch enemy, the BMW 5-series. Closely matched, the two cars are both the 6-cylinder with forced induction variants. The A6 is the 3.0 TFSI and the 5er is the 535 biturbo.
We have to admit, that the A6 won was not so much of a surprise. Even the last-generation car beat the Bimmer in several recent Car Magazine tests.
With the Audi A6 Avant now fully revealed, imagining a C7 version of the Audi allroad becomes a bit more easier. For those who can't imagine it themselves, render artist extraordinaire Theophilus Chin has gone ahead and done it for you. Yes, we see some points that we doubt Audi will do, such as rotor wheels, standard A6 grille and aluminum S-spec mirrors... but this is the closest we've seen. Check out more
When last we featured S6 Avant test mule photos on Fourtitude, that particular car wore a zigzag disguise that didn't quite show off the final product. However, with the A6 Avant now fully revealed and an S-car variant likely weeks away from debuting (we're guessing Frankfurt), engineers driving quad-tipped S6 mules like this black Avant don't seem too worried
T-Mobile Germany appears to have had the A6 Avant photo embargo materials ahead of time and also to have pulled the trigger a few hours early. Whether by design to draw traffic or by accident, the result is that viewers get to see Audi's new wagon a few hours early.
Exterior shots of the car in the
Check out this render of the next-generation RS 6. It's a bit premature to guess how accurate it is but the look is pretty cool nonetheless.
So what do we know of the RS 6? We do expect there will be one and it'll be powered by a higher-hp version of the upcoming 4.0T FSI. We don't expect the RS 6 to bow though before next year's Geneva show because the S6, S7 and S8 all have to bow before
Audi engineeers and spy photographers alike have had a very busy day today. We've just received our third set of photos of the day and this time around the focus is the upcoming S6 Avant following sets of the R8 GT Spyder and S1 3-door
Those who read this site closely already know that the A6 Avant will be revealed tomorrow at 8PM CEST,
The All-New C7 @Audi A6 3.0 TDI Is 17% More Fuel Efficient than Outgoing A6 3.0 TDI.
Learned during Audi's Lightweight TechDay held in Neckarsulm, Germany following test drive of both the 2011 Audi A6 3.0 TDI quattro and the 2012 Audi A6 3.0 TDI quattro.
