This week Fourtitude attended the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, an event that spawned plenty of Audi news that we've published and will continue to publish through the weekend. A highlight of the show was certainly the Audi Press Conference. Audi AG has released footage of the 2012 Geneva press conference (in German) and we've added it to our Youtube channel Fourtitube.
It's officially Thursday here in Geneva and we're sacked and ready for a few hours' sleep that'll get us up just in time to catch our KLM flight to Amsterdam then back to Washington D.C. It's about time we turn in and since we'll be holed up in various Dutch-liveried planes and a particular red R8 as we make our way home most of tomorrow, we'll be dropping off
One of our favorite elements of a European industry motor show is the on-stand boutique. Europeans must love their branded swag because most car companies including Audi plan on a shop full of goods as part of their auto show stand. At every show we usually take a close look at the shop to see what new items we think might grab the attention of an Audi enthusiast.
Common practice for Audi at a major motor show is to add more cars on the second press day when day 1 includes a press conference. With the chairs, platforms, video rigs and more now gone, this opens up plenty of room for more eye candy. Geneva 2012 was no different and upon our return today to the Geneva Palexpo we found this additional A3 specimen in blue and
There was so much new on the Audi stand this week at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland that we almost forgot about this particular piece of news. Then we got back from dinner (Geneva Mean Time) and saw news from the States about the iPad 4G announcement and this bumped up to our top story.
This new system was fitted to the new Audi A6 allroad,
Though the stars of the Audi stand at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show were most certainly the new A3, the new RS 4 or the more recently revealed A1 quattro and A6 allroad, this very interesting R8 from Audi Exclusive grabbed our attention from the outset. Set on the corner of the Audi stand, this R8 V10 coupe featured matte paint and some of the most extensively different
More bad news for proponents of radical growth of Audi's sports car lineup - the proposed "little brother to the Audi R8" has been cancelled according to a highly placed source at Audi AG. Apparently when company directors looked into the feasibility it was determined that there just wasn't enough room for a car to be placed between the top TT RS and the base R8.
We've had a chance to upload all of our photos from the 2012 Geneva Motor Show to our photo gallery. A more detailed report from the event will be forthcoming but for now enjoy the pics.
In case you missed it we ran all of the Audi PR text materials earlier this evening right as the car was launched. We've finally had a chance to get back to the hotel room here in Geneva and format/upload all of the other remaining release photography. Below is a link to both the press release and the photo gallery. Enjoy.
Audi A3 Press Release
ItalDesign has begun its own Geneva teaser process with a video push on YouTube. The latest video (below) shows that they're not just hinting the car's name but also a few design elements.
A while back the Volkswagen Group acquired ItalDesign and added it to the
