Our spy photographer sources have just sent us over a new set of shots of the R8 e-tron test mule of which a few photos surfaced yesterday. Photographers tell us this mule rounded the Ring quite quietly though we're checking to see if it was employing any of the e-sound elements that Audi defined recently.
Obvious e-tron design cues such as those on earlier
How do you know a car is nearing production? When it has its coming out party at the Nurburgring. We've seen A6 and A7 mules that we thought were RS mules before but there's no question about this Avant. Those bolstered fender flares are one easy spot but the other is a disguised fascia nearly identical to RS 4 mules before that car was revealed.
Under the hood we expect to see a higher-powered variation of
The car you see above may not look very intimidating but most car enthusiasts will tell you not to discount a car just for that. Light weight and track experience can make a world of difference and that's exactly the case in the video (below) we found posted on Jalopnik today.
Check out this latest test mule the mad staff at quattro GmbH have been testing at the Nurburgring. Photographed at the roundabout near the track, this blacked-out Audi A1 would seem to be a dead giveaway of the existence of an RS 1 program.
Those following the A1 story know the intel thus far. quattro was bound for the A1 lineup from the beginning in the form of the Haldex system
Okay, outwardly this Audi Q3 might not look particularly special. Sure, it's badged and kitted as an S-line and those B7 RS 4-design wheels painted black in the centers is interesting... but were you just see a photo of this car you might not be overly interested. Take a closer look though and things change just a bit.
First, our spy photographer sources shot this particular Audi Q3 at
The new Audi RS 4 Avant has returned to the Nurburgring for testing and spy photographers who frequent the 'Green Hell' have nabbed plenty of shots. Unlike previous RS 4 mules in spy photos we've featured here, this latest RS 4 tester appears to boast the upcoming facelift bodywork planned for the A4 range such as A6 and now A5 inspired headlights,
One thing is sure about this menacing-looking Q5 spied testing at the Nurburgring this week, it's not from Audi. LB plates (meaning Ludwigsburg) denotes the car originates from Porsche just in case the blacked-out Cayenne wheels didn't tip you off. What you're looking at is the latest test mule for the upcoming Porsche Cajun set to share platforms with the Audi Q5... so no real surprise
When Tom Kristensen went and broke Jacky Ickx's all-time wins record at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Dane earned his nickname "Mr. Le Mans". One might note there is no current "Mr. Nurburgring", but Audi Sport regular Timo Bernhard is working on it thanks to his win this past weekend at the wheel
We've just added to our 2011 24 Hours of Nurburgring photo gallery with a collection of shots form the ADAC 24h Classic vintage race. As is typical of the grid for the 24h main event, the grid for the classic was an eclectic mix of metal and alloy. For Audi fans, we noted a thin mix that included this NSU TTS (above) and the car below that may be a Volkswagen
From the looks of it, it appears that Audi TV will be broadcasting some coverage of this weekend's 24 Hours of Nurburgring live and direct via the web. Catch up with it via the link below starting Saturday.
