Posting electronic cards offering holiday wishes from our friends in the Audi world is something we've been wanting to do for a while. We'll call this a holiday collection because the world of Audi permeates through many cultures, many religions and many lands. We'll skip tying it to one particular holiday and instead just stick with the generic "holiday" term.
We usually get a nice collection of
An eagle-eyed Jalopnik reader caught a camera crew with the Audi quattro Concept earlier today in Malibu near the Pacific Coast Highway. Running non-concept RS 5 wheels, the car was on public roads and refuelling at a gas station, accompanied by several people and a camera crew toting Q5.
The quattro concept was on display last week during press days at the L.A. Auto Show though one
If you were a kid when the Audi ur quattro was ripping up the rally scene then you likely remember a day when the toy designers at Radio Shack were a bit more worldly - pushing R/C cars like the Martini Porsche 935 or Audi's own quattro... well before the monster truck cheese peddled today. If you remember those days and care to revisit them, we've found just the thing(s).
According to British buff book AutoCar, Audi is seriously considering a production version of its Paris show stopper the quattro Concept. AC's source is none other than quattro GmbH boss Stefan Reil who suggested Audi has had a team of dedicated engineers in Ingolstadt 'advancing plans that it be approved'. Should that happen, the car will be built in limited numbers
We've just added a photo gallery from tonight's Volkswagen Group Night of Driving Ideas. Included in the presentation were the Audi quattro Concept and the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento Concept. Look for more coverage from Paris this week.
Announcing a unique and very special gift for any Audi rally enthusiast. Fourtitude European editor David Corfield had a former life as a rally photographer for the Audi Sport UK team in the 1980s, and here, for the first time is a calendar with a selection of previously unpublished images from his days with the team. Showing all evolutions of quattro, from A1 through to S1 plus 200 (Group A), the calendar is a very special reminder
We've stumbled across a little classic Audi love over on Tinypic.com in the form of an Audi ur quattro template. A red original quattro such as this one has been tearing up the screens in the BBC series Ashes to Ashes and that car apparently inspired this paper cutout template.
The theory is simple.
1. Go to TinyPic and download the highest resolution version of the car.
2. Print with color printer
Photochopper extraordinaire Theophilus Chin is at it again with an A7 Sportback allroad quattro. That's a long name for certain and we're guessing chances for such a car are slim but it's interesting to consider nonetheless.
Check out more images of the concept after the jump.
We hadn't planned on making two posts in a row (much less the same day) from Nordschleifenbilder.de but this car warrants the second post. We're not sure what to make of this very purposeful looking Audi that seems to be based on the Audi ur quattro. While doors, roof and hood appear stock the car's super wide bodywork would make even the legendary Sport quattro envious of their
Rally Sport Magazine has published a quick review of a new Audi rallying history book titled 'Audi quattro, the Rally History'. We featured the book in our 2009 Audi Enthusiast's Gift Guide and can't say enough good about it. John Davenport's cataloguing of Audi Sport history is made perfect accompanied by a forward from legendary
