So, long story short. I was too excited to put my new bags in and disconnected the top strut bolt first, resulting in a torn abs wire. Before i knew this i scanned y car with vagcom ad got front left abs sensor. I figured since it was just a sensor it wasnt a torn wire. So i tried changin the sensor, nothing. Last night i fixed the wire. I checked each end of the wire with a volt meter to be sure it had a good connection and was active on both ends. Scanned car, deleted code, immediately came back. Took for a ride cause ive seen that clear em an still nothing. What can i do next?

Long story short not so short. Lol

Hey guys. I just replaced the front brake pads on my 01 jetta 2.0. I used a guide that I found online and rented a caliper tool from the auto parts store. I drove it about 1 mile after and all seemed to be fine. I went to drive the car again and the car wouldn't even shift out of park and none of the brake lights turn on either. The pedal can press down just as much as before. Im guessing it is the brake light switch, but really dont know for sure. It seems like a massive coincidence that it would go out the same day I replaced the pads.
Thanks for the help.

Looking to upgrade to a "sportier" brake rotor...any suggestions...seems like there are a ton of drilled, grooved, after market rotors anymore. Would love to try se front rotors that are anti rust and generally run cooler, and brake harder.
