So one of my salesmen came to me yesterday and asked me if I knew someone who could provide a good home to a 5 month old purebred Doberman. He is telling me he did not clear the dog with his wife and she says the dog must go. I do not want to see this pup go to a pound, so I would like to get it. At first, he told me $200 for the dog to cover shots, chip, and all that. Today, he tells me he will give her to me for free. The wife is PISSED about the dog.

Considering my grand parents and birth parents were all Doberman people, I am rather partial to them.

But it has been atleast 15 years since one has been in our family. And since I moved out on my own 6 years ago, I have never had my own "family member".

So he tells me she is well trained and can sit, lay, and stay on command. Has all shots short of rabies (must be 6 months old?), is chipped, ears cropped (I do not like seeing this, but whatever) and is very mild tempered.

What do I need to know about my first pet and what do I need to know about Dobermans?
