I tried searching but could never find an issue like the one I'm having.

A/C - When I turn it on it continues to blow warm air and the revs jump up ever few seconds as if the compressor is trying to engage. The fans both turn on and seem to spin fine. What could be causing it not to work?

Radiator Fans - They don't turn on until about 110 degrees Celsius so I have to drive around with the non functioning A/C on to keep the fans on, keeps the temp. right around 90. Any ideas what's the problem there? I'm pretty sure it's not the FCM

Someone help me out, summer is just around the corner here and black car + black interior - a/c =:mad::mad:

I just went to look around and touched a few sensors to make sure they're not loose and now I have a CEL :banghead:

My wife's Jetta has a dim headlight on the passenger side; it does not change brightness between DRL, Lo or Hi, it just stays very faint.

Occasionally it will come back to life and come to normal brightness, but it has not done that in a while now.

I've scoured forums and as best as I can tell- it may be due to a corroded ground wire. Even buying a Haynes manual for the car has not helped me find where the ground wire is for the passenger headlamp-it all just seems to blend back into the wiring harness. Anyone here by chance know where I can find said ground wire or better yet, have a picture of it? It would be much appreciated.

Also open to some any other suggestions that may cause one headlight to be dim.

Cheers, and thanks in advance!

Hello. I made a boo boo last year while struggling to get the Oil filter off I bent the Low Pressure hose. So it has been rubbing against the fan:banghead:( there are two fans). Now after wondering why the AC doesn't work I found out that the hose has a large hole in it Also when I bought the car, there was no grill on the lower right side ( my car is LHD) and there I saw a hose that looked like someone had cut it:confused: Not ripped or anything but cut. I found out that that might be the high pressure hose. Going to confirm that later.

So Im trying to get some tips on this repair. I obviously need to change the high and low pressure hoses, Im thinking of buying them second hand though, dont know whether that is a good idea or not.

Also I can see that there are lot of parts in the A/C system. Should I change most of them while there is no pressure in the system? I mean like the drier, expansion valve, temp switches or sensors?

I have VCDS so if I can do any diagnostics with that I'll greatly appreciate some guidance on that too

Edit: I dont have climatronic. My car is a LHD Golf IV 1.6 2003.

Yes I've searched, before I bite the bullet and buy a new turbo I wanna make sure thats it. So it all started after dustoff, I got home and changed the oil in my 20th with 126xxx and it started blowing smoke. It really only does it at idle. It happened again when I was leaving staggered, I was on the hill for a while because of traffic and it started blowing clouds. Since then I've noticed the turbo seems louder and it sounds like I have an exhaust leak. There is a weird odor in the car, and no its not the smell of crayons, kinda smells like waste gate. It doesn't hold boost at well, if i keep a steady pedal the boost drops to nothing. Im pretty sure thats all the symptoms. I first thought it was a head gasket so I ordered that and studs but haven't done it yet. Please help!
