I'm a current CC owner that may be looking to trade for a new GLI Autobahn. I think I'm doing it wrong because it seems like a lot of Jetta owners would like to graduate up to a CC.

The CC is an incredible car in so many ways. Seriously, I could go on and on about how great it is. The problem is I drove GTI's for almost 10 years before I bought the CC. I guess I miss a lot of the growl and punch those GTI"s had but I'm also older now so I want a car that's a little bigger and more comfortable.

From what I've read, it sounds like the GLI may be good mix between the sportiness and attitude of the GTI combined with some of the comforts of the CC. Does that sound about right?

I think the best thing for me to do would be to drive a GLI to find out for myself. It would be great to hear some opinions from some GLI owners, too. So what do you guys think?

So I'm now on the final stage of my build with the long awaited completion of the APR 2.0TSI RSC TBE install for the Slab Sled.

I put in the AWE Diverter Valve at the same time I did the RSC TBE Install and because I didn't have a Boost Tap the DV threw a CEL and I wasn't able to truly enjoy the car or the new exhaust....:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead :

Needless to say, AfterFX was amazing as usual and they took the AWE DV out and installed the OEM one because it wasn't for a 2012 GLI, it was for 2011 and earlier!! AWE, WTF:facepalm:

So on to the review....the install took about 2-3 hours, everything went in without a problem. The APR Exhaust, to me, is noticeably lighter than the OEM Exhaust. On my 1st drive I instantly noticed an increase in power, mostly at the top end of each gear and especially in 5th. On the highway you will see that when I do the pull in the video below that the RPM's don't increase dramatically but the speedometer just shoots right up from 80 to 110 in no time. You will also notice that it's not incredibly loud. If you want it to be quiet on the highway, no problem. If you want it to be quiet in the street, no problem. If you want it to give a sick growl from 2nd into 3rd, easy....you get the point. Also, no droning! I had an MKIV R32 and holy crap did that thing drone on the highway and wherever else you drove it.

Overall the quality of the craftsmanship is amazing and my car performs amazingly. It feels so much stronger and reliable and the engine feels so much more responsive.

Here are some sound clips and videos:

Cold Start Clip-[IMG][/IMG]

Warm Start Clip -

[IMG][/IMG]

Launch Clip-

[IMG][/IMG]

Let me know what you guys think. The quality of the videos are crap because I sued my phone, but I hope to have some better quality content up soon!

Enjoy fellas!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:SPEED

Hi everyone,

This website is one of my favourite specially after i bought a a 2012 VW JETTA Base 2.0.
I'm planning to upgrade my car in different ways. like installing a screen and fog lights and i already got 18 inch rims and eibach.

I have some questions i hope you gonna replay,
1-can i install fog light.
2-can i change the plane regular no buttons steering wheel by any other vw steering wheel with buttons and make it function.
3-are VWs touch screens are the same like, passat and cc and golf and sirocco if they have the same size frame.

Regards.

So I took my 2013 Jetta SE for it's 30 day check up today and also brought up other issues I am concerned with. If anyone has dealt with these issues let me know because the dealership said there are no problems(no effin surprise there).

#1. Drivers side door: The plastic interior of the door is loose from the metal frame. When I say this, I mean if I rest my leg up against the door and push against the plastic(I don't even need much force), it makes a popping sound - it's as if the manufacturer did not properly seal/glue the plastic to the metal. The passenger side does not do this.

#2. Drivers side door: When window is up and when shutting the door, it sounds as if something in the door is not secure and makes an extra noise. I'm wondering if this is related to the plastic not being attached right(see above issue).

#3. Engine(I think): When driving 70 - 73 MPH, the engine makes a louder noise than any other speed. If I go 74MPH the loud engine noise stops??? I was told by the technician that Volkswagens just make different noises at different speeds.

#4. Lights: My right headlight shines further than the left one. The technician turned my lights on and shone them on a mechanical doorway(which by the way was NOT a flat surface) and said they look fine. I told him to shine them on a flat surface and he will see. Needless to say when I talked to him later on today he said the headlights are lined up properly. :-/ Now about 2 weeks ago someone had reversed into my car and screwed up my bumper and fender, but the headlight casing was not affected so I don't think that has anything to do with this.

#5. Upon release of full braking, the brake pedal goes "clunk" back to it's resting position. Is this normal? I could have sworn the 2 VW's I test drove had a slow releasing pedal/didn't do this. Technician says no problem found.

Yes, you can call me anal but after spending so much on a brand new car, there should not be ANY issues. If I can't get these issues fixed I think any interest I had in VW has gone down the drain and I'll be going back to Nissan once this piece of junk dies. I can only hope the drivetrain/powertrain lasts me a long time because if the German's decided to go el cheapo on that s*hit too I will not be a happy customer! :(
