40 mpg average at 90 mph (hey it's the autobahn), was getting 43 mpg with lighter driving, the rental car was brand new (picked up with 40 miles on it) so I'm sure it'll be a 50 mpg highway car on a fully broken in engine. This was the 110kw engine (about 150hp)

The TDI feels much faster than it really is....you won't win drag races since the HP isn't there but engine response seems better. I think power under the curve is larger and car is also slightly lighter. They fixed the intercooler problems with the last gen TDI engine and hopefully addressed other reliability areas.

touchscreen is much better than last gen, hand sensor is a gimmick and doesn't add any real functionality.
