Hello all,
I was walking around my hometown yesterday shooting a few specific subjects and a few random subjects, and I wanted to get some feedback. This is the fountain at Forsythe Park in Savannah, GA, a well known tourist attraction (There were actually about 50 people around the fountain when I took it, as well as a yard crew, and two yard trucks), I just happened to find an angle where almost everyone was completely out of it.

What would you all do to improve this shot. If anyone has been to the fountain, I would have rather taken the picture from the center of the path about 50 meters away, but there were far too many people and vehicles to obstruct the picture.

Also, which photo do you like better, the black and white or the one with a good amount of desaturation done. I much prefer these two to the full color version.

FYI- My mother is a huge fan of Savannah and I want to have one of these framed and give it to her for her birthday. She loves Forsythe Park, which is why I chose to shoot the fountain. Thanks for the help photog experts!

Camera- Canon G15 (My walkaround camera)
ISO- 100
Focal length- 7.9mm
-.3 EV
F/8- Using Av
1/80

I hate to be that guy, but I have been researching cameras for a couple of weeks now, been to a couple of stores, reading every online review I can, and i think I have just overly confused myself. I have always come to this forum to read about photography more than anywhere else, and respect the talent in this area, so I'm hoping you guys are willing to oblige.

I currently have a Canon 50D, and two kids under 2 years old, which are my main subjects. I just cant carry a bag around with all my gear anymore. I need to put myself in a high quality compact or an MILC camera. With my current setup I almost always shoot with fixed primes, max aperture, I like lots of depth of field. I don't want to spend more than like $900.

I'm looking at:
Canon G15, with underwater case to take surfing
The Leica D-Lux 6
The Panasonic DMC LX7
Canon EOS-M, potentially wait for the second gen, whenever that may be
The Sony NEX series (I have researched but dont understand all of the backwards compatible lens options there are for this yet)
And anything else you guys can recommend.

Thanks in advance for any experience or advice you can share which would put one of these in or out of the running.
