I work part time for DBC Tuning at Tradesman Drive and 1604 right up the road from where we live. We are a full service shop that does maintenance and performance tuning for all European cars (our bread and butter is VW, Audi, & Porsche). We can probably do the install for you. Stuff like this would be done probably on a Sat. appt. in the early in the morning (around 9ish). I can get pricing for you if you like. However, if you want to DIY it and do have the experience (which is necessary) to do it yourself, then I will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have or help you solve any problems you may have along the way.

There is no "programming" involved. It's simply installing the AVIC HU into the car with the right Connects2 adapter. They are, typically, readily available from enfigcarstereo.com. I have used them many times for car stereo parts and Christian over there is a really good guy to deal with. There are two different wiring harnesses from Connects2 for the B7. One has DIN ISO connectors and the other the block connector. You just need to figure out which one your wife's needs. It usually depends on the year of the car. I had an AVIC D3 in my former B7 that I loved. Fortunately, they have better dash kits out now for these things than when I did my initial install in my A4. I switched over to a Connects2 dash kit from a Metra one about a year before I sold it to get better fitment and rubber touch look (not that it ever looked bad, I just had to be more creative previous to the release of that particular dash kit).

right down the street from you near bandera point...looking to upgrade my wife b7, a4 stereo with a navi unit right now. not sure what to get. where did you get your unit programmed into the a3 at? was it hard to source the steering wheel controls for the pioneer avic?
