      EDIT - Found one, thanks!

I'm looking to buy the part circled in red below (pic borrowed from USRT shift linkage thread). It's the part of the linkage that attached to the long shift rod going...

Re: Introducing the new VWVortex project car

Another good (and cheap) sound deadening idea is to stuff all the voids with foam padding. I got this suggestion from another member on here and in addition to the butyl dampening it really helps out...

Closing the loop on this project. I ended up getting things adjusted after picking up a Harbor Freight Oil Filter Wrench. I was able to grab the top plate with this and let it wedge against the shock...

I tried again last night. No go on the lower bolts. I don't have air tools, just a breaker bar and skinny guy arms. (And a car that's seen its share of Ohio winters.... rust fest) I couldn't budge...

Thanks for the reply. I'm trying to avoid taking the spring completely out because IIRC my mechanic said he had problems getting the lower shock bolt out due to the length and it interfering with the...
    10. How do you adjust the rear height for ST Coilovers?

      All,

I know... "turn the collar". Well, easier said than done. I've read that there's supposed to be an allen key hole in the inner part of the upper mount to hold it while you turn the collar....

Thanks for the pointer. I picked up a jug of it this morning before work. I also got some "Bleech White" since I remember it working good on my dad's whitewalls back in the day. Although I'm scared...

Re: What did you do to your Mk2 do today?

Scored some proper MK3 rubber floor mats. They're in fantastic shape with the exception of the driver's side logo being discolored. Any suggestions for getting it back to white? I tried Simple Green,...

      All,

I recently replaced my window scrapers with the version sold by "tonyboy1977" on eBay (LINK to store). They were reasonably priced and seeing how bad mine had become I figured it was worth a...
