interesting... don't love the black lips but it may grow on me
it's not "confusing" me, it's just not as effortless as the old design. now you really have to pop it out it vertically...every other golf I've owned from mk2 - mk6 had similar designed hinge where...
the fact that the hinge has to pop out vertically is far less user friendly imo than the previous design which was more of a horizontal pop out.
i love the car, easily the most well rounded and feature-laden car I've owned. zero real complaints or regrets.
my only gripes
- no memory seats/mirrors
- non dimming side mirrors

I definitely find my R to be quieter in terms of road noise and wind noise than my MKV or MKVI were.
Cruising on the highway in comfort mode always surprises me with how smooth and quiet the car...
