      I think there was a recall of the battery cable on earlier (2006/07) VR6 Passats -- for those with the battery in the trunk. Might want to check to see if that was completed.

      That's good news. From all I've read this car and other VW/Audis can go batsheet crazy when battery power starts to fluctuate from the norm.

      Perhaps only the Germans know why. :cool:

      I have them too and from what I've read the '08s and later are wired to work correctly but not so much prior years.

      The OEM for the 3.6 is an excellent battery. You got a lot of years out of your original. I replaced mine with another OEM after about 6 years, just as a precaution.

      Yes, Euro regs state that speedometer can be up to 10% higher than actual speed but never lower. Yes, odometer is accurate. Yes, you want German, this is what you have to live with.
