Great info
Excellent feedback on the new 630's - thanks for sharing
Kind of depends on what pump you have but the DO's kits used to come with Shurflo that fail... happened to me a couple times too so I got a pump from USRT that's reliable and also pushes more...
Even on pavement you'll need a significant amount of muscle to hit 180 mph. Check this 850+ awhp coupe quattro for example... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ow0zrKfOcro
Congrats on the new turbo...
^^^This... I have Uni 2+ and it's ok but I wouldn't go that route again. Unless you're getting the K04-001 for $100 or less it's a waste of money. K04-02x is a much better "stock" option as is a tune...
Must be time for an update :)
Throw it up on eurodrivers... who doesn't want a VRT?!
Awesome project btw
Smart idea
OP - I like valve cover #4 personally... cool touch either way though. And do keep in touch with Jeff - great resource
Awesome - looking forward to seeing this progress
Nothing wrong with including other details too but you'll def want keep an engine related focus... aside from the freshen up, what are your plans/goals re: tune, hardware, intended use...?
Congrats on the new purchase
Keep in mind, this is an engine forum... so check the FAQ for the basic maintenance and diagnostic DIY's like pressure testing the intake system, timing...
You're clearly going to the drive in movie... what shows you seeing ;)
^^^ Bahahaha... that's awesome :D
I had freezing issues too so I mounted the CC right above the turbo - problem solved.
Sweet - any pics of said cover or prototypes?
I've contemplated this swap numerous times - love this 2.5L! I'd think about the crankshaft too though... seems to be a weak point. Check Post #571 - he swapped in a forged TT-RS crank for the broken...
If I remember right, the WH1C is the same size as a HX30 but has a billet comp wheel...? Looking forward to seeing how this performs
Helping spool is exactly why you should at least consider a stroker... but I understand where you're coming from when it adds a good chunk of change to the build. It is cheaper to do it once...
