    1. airation

your crankshaft may be beating your oil into a froth. drain your oil to the proper level and if you haven't already done damage, with any luck you'll be ok. hard to build pressure with foam.

      nothing new

That has been in owners manuals almost forever. people only read as far as they want to. a lot of us fall into at least one of those categories and don't realize it.

      oil cooler?

      it's something to look at:)
    7. 502 oil

if it's under warranty you need to use a vw 502 spec oil and keep records. it does not need to be done by vw. 5w-40 is good year round just about anywhere.:)

      read the owners manual

oil change intervals are 10k mile on most newer vw's. UNLESS you drive in dusty areas, make mostly short trips, live where it stays below freezing for extended periods of time, etc. decide for...

      just returned from dealer

vw has a pamphlet with all the wheels they use and what they fit. many 17 inch wheels are listed for the r32 and golf r. so certainly 17 inch is big enough, back spacing and offset could be an...
    12. carbon

if you are interested in cutting carbon you can find many 502 oils that are also 505.1. I have an 06 bpy jetta that had a miss forever at idle, it's gone and I attribute it to 505.1 low saps earl. I...

      maybe

everything says you need 18 in. wheels to clear, however, I have seen Passat 4motion vr6's stock with 17 in. wheels and they have the same brakes as an r32.

      just a thought

I've got 3 vw's and have used mobil 1 0w-40, valvoline synpower, total and fuchs oils without issue. none went down more than 1/2 quart between changes (5K) or had any issues. I've been using the...
    15. inspection window

if your car has an inspection window take a look. I just did the timing belt on my 06 bpy jetta @ 120k and it looked like new. based on that experience I would say no.

      wild guess

      # 1 cyl is on the right side, break was on the right side, mount is right in front of #1, maybe some random chatter from vibrating air box set off knock sensor until engine picked up a few rpm.

      bpy hpfp

guys, check your info on the bpy fuel pump lobe. mine appears to have 3 lobes, not one. if i'm correct, that would be 3 pressurizations per firing. please correct me if i'm wrong.
