i agree with you on it being a different design/ engineering philosophy, however, rod bearings are part of the long block, and I don't think its right how they need replacing on the s54 engines and...

in for what porsche tells him, also if things are being replaced a second time, might they be under the parts/ labor warranty of when they were fitted? then the dealer can't refuse the labor

it is interesting how audi and mercedes are going in opposite directions in terms of diesel, MB has it as a base econo engine, while audi you can only get them with one of the higher packages
i know they often negotiate a little bit in terms of msrp
when you order one, especially an exclusive audi, you pay sticker, plus w/e options you choose, correct?
are those top two pulleys for balance? only the bottom one seems to be running the oil pump
are the fuses exposed/ out in the open like that for easy replacement?

all mercedes use AGM these days, almost positive, what about bmw and mercedes?
a very collectable one, cool story behind it, and used form the 30s or 40s, all the way thru the 70s when digital ones became popular, some of these go for 1500+ on ebay
