Swapped the entire HVAC plenum and wiring.

Some failing ABS pumps can also cause noise on the k line which won't allow it to connect.
So tempted to try those yellow tails on my 20th.
Scan the car. This could be due a a few different switch problems.
You need vag-com. That app will not scan all the modules, or is it reliable for getting the correct codes from the ECU.

Get a scan from VCDS when the CCM is plugged in and then come back and post the results. Sounds like the CCM is not coded correctly.
This. The differences between engines and engine mounts vary too much to have a list. ETKA also has the sizes if your savvy enough.
Good call on keeping the brackets for the raintray/strut towers. Did the same on mine and it turned out great.:)
Just Audi and some Skoda models I think. A few models could have shared the same roof harness though.
Never seen that style of mirror in a MK4. Another possibility is a signal from the auto dim mirror to the left and right door mirrors.
This summit check valve worked well for me.
