I have a kit to test, I never got around to running my car on the dyno this year, once I get it on there I'll get the tuning sorted then install the kit and see if I can make any extra power.
Those are motorcycle coils, checkout spdi spark. Awesome product, haven't had a chance to install them as I ran out of time/it snowed/money. It's a plasma spark system.

Get water/meth injection with a small nozzle, the little bit before will help keep everything nice and clean.
You had your harness completely apart, I'm guessing wiring.

What makes you think that it's the key? If it was an immobilizer issue it would start then turn off. When the car is running try wiggling your key in the ignition.
My money is on ignition switch.
