Replied to your reply to my PM. :D
Mine popped off unintentionally. I don't believe there's much glue in there.
PM sent RE: GLI tails.
Amazon of all places. I got 100 for $7. The switches and door controls don't need resistors but I found out the hard way that the vents do. I wired in the vents, flipped the switch and poof -- LEDs...
I'm betting that red plastic is diffused so that the light from the one bulb travels through and illuminates the plastic. Guess I'm just stuck with red. Oh well.
I may just leave it red and deal with it. The stock double DIN radio can act as a transition (blue LCD screen w/ red controls). Yes, that's what I'll tell myself. Go to sleep, OCD, go to sleep. :P
No, no... Thank YOU! :beer::thumbup:
I forget about the two junk yards, probably because they hardly ever have stuff for my wife's car or mine. I'll give them a look. Thanks!
Does anyone have an e-brake button laying around? Mine is perfectly functional but the chrome on the button flaked off. I may just get some brushed aluminum-look vinyl and wrap it but I'd rather have...
I was having an issue with my tail lights and door locks, so I took everything apart trying to find the culprit. I figured as long as everything is pulled out, why not change the LEDs? I kind of wish...
Molded red plastic is what I was afraid of. If, however, it's just a matter of scraping off an existing red film/coating and recovering/repainting it, I'll send ya some vinyl. :thumbup:
I know it's just one bulb behind the fan speed control knob. I also know (or was told, rather) that the lighting color is red because of some red plastic doo-dad. What I don't know is whether or not...
I broke the red LED (and it's little black plastic holder) off the top of the circuit board and am going to solder the new LED in from the top.
As for the HVAC, crap. I saw a video of the HVAC...
OK, I figured they were the same.
My tails are crapping out. How about a set of tails for a GLI to 35660?
My tails are crapping out. Does that $75 include the trays and shipping to 35660?
Does anyone know how to remove the LEDs from the ASR and defrost switches? I have the switch broken open but can't figure out how to remove the circuit board to desolder the LED.
