Don't remember exactly how off the top of my head, try a search for it in the mk3 specific forums instead of the VR6 one. Hopefully that'll point you in the right direction :thumbup:
This sounds like more of a transmission issue than a VR6-specific issue, but since high-rpm shifts are when the synchros in your tranny are working their hardest, I'd say a gear oil change might do...
