I've always wanted a white Mk4 1.8T. Car looks good.
Order from a Canadian company that stocks 034 products. PG Performance here in Surrey, BC can bring it in for you.
For what it's worth, I believe the Permatex PermaShield product I recommended is considered to more or less be a replacement for the Hylomar formula that Permatex picked up a while back.
The Amazon product description of the link you posted: Elring Dirko RTV Silicone Gasket Maker Compound
The Bentley calls for sealant on a small section of the CCT gasket and at the transition points of the VC gasket. I'm not proposing the use of sealant in place of any gaskets.
I'm about to do my valve cover gasket and CCT gasket this weekend. Went with Permatex PermaShield for CCT gakset dressing and will probably just grab some Permatex gasket maker for the valve cover...
The AUG engines have both a metal pipe and a rubber hose that replace both of your problem pieces. Unfortunately I'm at work right now so I can't pull the part numbers.
There is a factory variant of that pipe and hose that doesn't use the ****ty clip. I believe it came on the AGU engines. You can find a few pictures here:
Fuel trims were relearned a long time ago. Not a fuel trim issue.
Prior to replacing my fuel pump, I would have a release of pressure as the gas cap was removed. That doesn't happen anymore. I find that my fuel pump is now audible as well. Finally, if I fill up my...
Despite it being only 6-8 months old, I unplugged my MAF to see if it would make a difference. Didn't really do much, so I think I can eliminate that as an issue.
Should timing pull be relatively...
I'm dealing with the exact same issue for over a year and have a general loss of performance, especially in the lower RPM range. I just installed a brand new O2 sensor as I think my old one was bad...
It has been OVER A YEAR and I still don't have my issues resolved.
Manifold wasn't warped. Reinstalled it properly without using any anti-seize as groggory recommended. The hissing I previously...
I can get OEM replacement parts for $410.
As far as doing things right, I'd be following the Bentley.
What do you consider cheap? I may ask Auburn VW what it would cost for OEM parts.
Just looking for some rotor/pad recommendations.
I replaced my primary O2 sensor today. After the replacement, some power I had lost has been restored. However, when at idle or accelerating with no boost, my lambda correction is spiking as low as...
The kit "fit" for me. I never had to remove any of the plastic shielding.
I say "fit" because the pipes are indeed slightly narrower than the stock charge pipes. You pretty much lose the...
I have a straight edge and feelers and I'm trying to determine if the manifold mating surface is warped. What's the allowable distance between the manifold and the straight edge?
