ok, it appears the block was fine after all..... still replaced the rings/ bearings while we were in there. and had the block decked as well. once i get the engine back it will probably be a bit...

Nope.....apparently not turbo continued to smoke terribly after replaced turbo. Had head redone and machine shop said they wanted to see the block. All oil was from cylinder 5.
Stock cams. Do have more pics. Looks like all oil in exhaust was from cylinder 5...
That's what I thought but will check all possibilities
Head is being sent out to get checked out. When I was taking it out I did notice 2 studs on the back side one was not even finger tight after removing bolt and the other came out while loosening bolt
Still pretty green to this, would have had to buy a leakdown no one at my shop has one
Wasn't thinking, thought because was doing a teardown no need for leakdown.
I was just surprised to see the consistent low compression across the board. I will update once head is off and let ya know what's going on. In cAse someone else has this problem another time.
Head is coming off. Managed to look into exhaust ports and saw oil. Hopefully valve seals. As they have never been done and unknown mileage.
