I'm on my phone right now so I don't have the link... But go to A2Resource "dot" com
Them go to the electrical section... They have all wiring diagrams and fuse panel stuff up till 1999 VWs
Could it be "pinging"?
Try running a higher octane fuel for a few tanks and see if it goes away.
On my 16v the cam gear has a line on the backside of the pulley. You line this line up with the surface of the head.
For TDC, you can just stick a wooden dowel in #1 plug hole and turn the engine...
A manual cable will have a threaded rod and nut on it, the auto adjusting ones will have a large black cylinder that is sealed.
I suggest getting a MkII manual adjusting cable. I think I paid...
Holy, you live?!?
Here's my location... Jetta is sold as of a couple weeks ago. But you get the idea.
Those look like Audi rondals R8's. I had a set, they were 4x108mm.
Cost me about $700 for everything, special tools, seals, gaskets, paint. Engine complete with ECU ($360 pick n pull)
Holy crap, he lives!!
I already miss it. I just drove it for a few days while I was doing a rear bearing on my E36 last week. I loved driving the Jetta, its still a fun car. I'm sure...
[QUOTE=Slaughter;78998538]...are they reliable?/QUOTE]
It all depends on the maintenance that has been previously done. They are just machines, just like everything else, if they are Not...
Sounds like "Ground loop".
How are your grounds connected?
The "noise" you are hearing is most likely caused by the Alternator.
I've had my Jetta for sale for a couple months but I've been out of town for at least 6 weeks and haven't had a chance to sell it.
Today it finally went, I sold it for $3200. I was happy with that...
Or just use AmourAll... On my E36 it turned some white plastic, back into satin black.
Speaking as an ex-infantryman... We never used bats and brass knuckles?
Haha max effective range for a C7 (M16) is 300 meters. Try swinging a bat at that?!
The coolant light has nothing to do with the CTS. It's just a basic float in the overflow bottle that turns the light on or off.
Also, you do not have the engine running when you scan for codes.
Doesn't the oils attract bugs? Lol
Maybe he has an intercooler mounted under the scoop? Ya ever think of that before you all flame him?
...sigh, I miss the old Vortex.
Not to take sides here, but... As metal heats up it gets softer. Plus the OP said he was turning it slowly, so it wouldn't get too hot, not hot enough to weaken the metal.
Most likely, the bolt...
