B3 and B4 is still an A3 chassis. Unless someone went from a plus to a standard suspension, I don't see that the track narrowing. That would also be a downgrade. Plus suspension is superior.

I have a feeling you're referring to a plus conversion, which would widen the front. VR6 cars are the donors.

Not quite sure what you're referring to.... the tank or sender? Only difference I've ever seen between gas and diesel are on the pick ups.

Personally, I've never had one of the uppers go bad. On my latest project I removed the plastic one and replaced it with a metal one, just because I had it. There was nothing wrong with the plastic...

I've been using the washer & hose clamp method, for over 20 years. Never had an issue, so I'll continue with it.

Great, thanks! If the old stuff is holding fine, leave it alone. It's easy to go overboard, but it's been proven that anything more than 25-30% is pretty much just extra weight... the point of...

I'd look at the front door handles and the alarm box. Microswitch(es) may be bad in the handles. Alarm box can be removed and bypassed.

Idle stabilizer valve was only on cars with AC. You can delete it, but if your AC works, your idle may suffer.

Interesting... if I'm reading your post correctly, the new tail is also Hella? I haven't seen any stock photos (of the new tails) with black borders. Maybe you just got a bad batch.

Unfortunately, I think used or NOS OG Hella tails are the only ones that look good. The problem with used is finding them...

Wow, and I thought the new Hella replacements looked bad....

The hood release is an easy fix. I relocated it to the fuse panel bracket, in my truck.

I will agree that custom pods can be quite a bit if work, but it's worth it.

I'm sure you're aware there's one on eBay.

Do you collect old tools or something? Functionality, I'd think this could be easily replicated with some scrap and all thread.
