That makes more sense.
Most newer Jetta's aren't sold with the 2.0 anyway. They returned that engine to the lineup solely to make a bargain-basement dirt cheap model available. Most of the Jetta's out there are 2.5's...
I wouldn't blame Toyota. Floor pans are just sheet metal, on any car out there. A sharp enough object and/or an object with enough velocity will go through it.
It's rare that this happens, the...
You don't have to change the ECU. Just use all the sensors and accessories from the original engine. Sometimes the old intake manifold, fuel rail, and/or and throttle body have to be used as well.
What engine codes? They're all interchangeable, with small differences. The only exception is BBW, but I think that was only 2004-05 models.
1.5qts over how many miles?
Have you gotten under it to make sure there are absolutely NO leaks?
Yeah if you pull the O2 sensor and some pep comes back, replace the cat.
It's going to feel normal at the tailpipe with no load on the engine, even if the cat is plugged.
FWIW, I usually use...
How much oil is it burning?
The dealer will only replace the whole assembly because they're the dealer.
It's perfectly legal replace just a flex section, provided the cat itself is OK and not being tampered with or removed. ...
It could also be normal, especially if the car is relatively new to the OP. Without driving the car it's impossible to tell for sure.
I've seen this on many cars (mostly econoboxes), heck even my...
It was probably the TPS. There were no faults because the ECU didn't realize it was getting a false signal from the sensor (there are no cross checks in OBDI), it assumed you were operating the...
Why your scanner is finding a bank 3 I have no idea.
That being said, the fuel trim numbers indicate a faulty MAF. The codes and symptoms seem to support that. Is the connection good at the MAF?...
You can verify the TPS by looking in measuring block 003. Use the graphing function while slowly operating the pedal (key on engine off), there should be no dropouts, spikes, or anomalies in the...
Firstly, no. Secondly, NEVER, EVER touch a VW DBW throttle body unless you've got VCDS on hand to adapt it.
What are your fuel trim numbers?
Does this car have an EGR valve?
50/50 mix. 60/40 if you're in a cold climate where it may freeze.
"Upgrading" the mounts won't quash any vibration. If anything, it'll add more vibration.
I put the term "upgrade" in quotes because I personally don't consider harder motor mounts to be any kind...
I don't even understand what's going on. Define the term "cuts out".
