I've always enjoyed how mk3s are nearly impossible to lock yourself out of unless you're stupid enough to hit the lock switch on the dash and leave the keys in the car.

you don't drop the suspension. cut the pipe where it leaves the suitcase muffler (backside towards the rear of the car) with a sawzall, you don't need to get that pipe off ebay, any muffler shop will...
oh you mean you torched your fuse box? good move. :thumbup:
if the rest of the exhaust is useable, just get rid of the suitcase muffler and have a pipe made to connect the remaining exhaust.
