      Does the noise manifest itself when you rev the engine or just when you're moving?

      That will rule out the speedo cable pretty quick.

      Does it say which one on what side?

      I just had to drill out what was left of the bolt on the belt...
    18. One step forward 2 steps back - alternator mounting bolts - 88 16v

      While I was heading to work today my mounting bolts fell out allowing the alternator belt to loosen then be ground up.

      Does anyone have the spec's for these 2 bolts so I can go get some?

      Sounds like you need to borrow a known good cluster and see if everything starts to work..... then go from there.

      Multiple failures could indicate your electrical...
