It is dumb, no arguing there. On the other hand, what's done is done, and I'd do it again. The 996 was not a total loss, but had more damage than insurance quoted it at. I have zero interest for...

Oh trust me, it's leaving me nice and broke so far. Sure is a good way to go though! :D

And yes upshifting in particular. The rpm's hung nicely in the Porsche between shifts. This car is the...

You are reading my mind. I actually have three extra sets of CH's from the Challenge car. Might just have to throw a set on and see how it looks.

Thanks! For a good one? About the same as a new Cayman S with a few options. Depends on if you want the F1 system or a 6 speed and convertible or coupe. Mine was just over $70k all said and...

I already got rid of the Turbo--gave the keys to the dealer yesterday. And it is a shame, but I'm glad in a way. I like the Ferrari much more than I ever did the Porsche.

If I could find a lower...

Summer is fleeting. I didn't want to be without a car for several weeks (or more) while battling with the repair shop and insurance company. It's already July, so I'd be lucky to have the Porsche...

Joey was great. Nice guy and very helpful. He was getting on his Gulfstream to fly to California for the day on Sunday--apparently that's how he deals with the Scottsdale heat.:beer:

That's a very good question. I haven't actually looked it up yet. Sounds like when it gets federalized most of the euro options get changed over (bumpers, lights, door bars, etc). The only thing...

Thank you! It took a few days to really figure out the 6 speed. The flywheel is very light, so when you're not trashing it you have to blip the gas between shifts to rev match to the next gear.

Had the turbo for about a month and a half. Sad to see it go. I don't have enough time to deal with insurance, so I will let the dealer manage fixing it. I did take a pretty big hit on trade value...

I love the 550s, just couldn't find one with a 6 speed in a color other than black or silver. Maybe in the future one will pop up.

Another new car. Fcar content this time.

Last Tuesday we had a massive hailstorm here in Colorado. Caused $500k worth of damage at the dealer. Unfortunately, my 996 TT was parked outside. Progressive gave a quote of $5200 to fix it (which...

I could never bring myself to buy one, but for the rest of my life I'll lust after these. One of the most beautiful cars ever made IMO. Right up there with the Miura and 250 Lusso

Do it. Just buy it. The IMS issues tend to affect cars that are garage queens. Find one (2003+ preferably so you get the higher output engine) with around 60k miles or above. With that you shouldn't...

The best? A 996 GT3 RS that I had in Germany/Belgium. Here in the US, an F430 spider in southern California a few years back. Recent best rental? 2014 S550 Merc (in southern California).

I haven't bothered thus far, nor do I plan on starting a collection anytime soon. I know what my cars need. Easy to keep track for me anyway. Most maintenance is preventative. I don't wait until...

+1 on the Raptor. Needs to be tuned up though--they're (the 6.2L) a bit disappointing stock. They make all the right noises but never really and truly go anywhere. Look at the Hennessey 600-700...
