THE GTG/FOOD DRIVE IS STILL ON!! NOTHING WILL STOP US...NOT EVEN A FEW INCHES OF SNOW!! 160 CARS TURNED OUT FOR THE ONE IN MARCH AND IT WAS RAINING THEN TOO!! TOMORROW IS A GO!!...see!
HUGE KOP-4 UPDATE! MOVED TO LARGER PARKING LOT!! (click for details)
We have had people ask us recently if we will have enough room for all of us attending the Food Drive to park at the Valley Forge Park. Jay and I all day have been on the phone with some of you as well as the park today. Unfortunately we are just finding this out today but the park has started construction on the Washington Headquarters which cuts the parking in half. The other lots available in the park cannot hold the 200-some cars that we plan to expect on Sunday.
However today we spent most of the day on the phone with the park director and he made another option available to us. We will be moving the Food Drive to Lower Perkiomen Park which is about 5-10 minutes from Valley Forge National Park. Please spread the word on this we do not want there to be any confusion at all. This park has a much bigger parking lot available for us so this should make everything run a little smoother. There is a link below with directions from every possible way you could think of to come here. Sorry to all of you for this being such a last minute change but it is necessary for this Food Drive to run smoothly.
Please direct any questions to JAY (VDUB 113, AIM:vdub113, or 215-630-9001) or to MARK (glenn4881, AIM:glenn4881, or 484-557-5795) If you need help with directions or have any questions.
Thanks-
Mark and Jay

APTuning has come through huge on this Food Drive! What APTuning will be offering at the Food Drive is the APR Chip Special similar to what you see at the various shows! To set this Food Drive apart from the shows they will waive their $25 dollar installation fee. In return they will ask you for a donation of $25 to the Greater Philadelphia Food Bank. If you continue to read below I have all the details that you will need.
You will need to donate just $25 to the Greater Philadelphia Food Bank at the Food Drive on December 7th at Lower Perkiomen Park. You will receive a coupon that you will redeem at APTuning in Lebanon Pa, at any time within the next six months to take advantage of the Buy One Program receive a Second Program Free special.
So to sum this up you will just need $25 on December 7th to receive a coupon to take advantage of this special at $499+tax on a two program APR chip at any time within the next six months at APTuning's shop in Lebanon Pennsylvania!
APTuning did not just stop there though! They will also give you a Gift Certificate at the Food Drive redeemable at their shop for $25 dollars towards any other merchandise purchased at their shop the day you get chipped. Meaning not only are you taking advantage of sale pricing on the APR chip, but you will also get $25 dollars off any other purchase at the shop on the day you go to have you car chipped.
The $25 gift certificate is not redeemable towards the chip price.
Do not pass this opportunity up to help out the Greater Philadelphia Food Bank with your Donation as well as take advantage of this special sale pricing!
I have to say thank-you to Mark, Mike and Tom over at APTuning for stepping up and making this possible to happen. That Donation that you will be making will help to feed a lot of people in the Philadelphia area.
Thanks,
Mark Glenn (AND MARK...THANK YOU FOR DOING EVERYTHING TO MAKE THIS GTG THE ULTIMATE...YOU ROCK DUDE.
FOOD will be taken care of. Drinks on the other hand will need to be supplied. If anyone would care to bring some soda or bottled water with them to share, that would help out tremendously. Even if it's just A-Treat or some store brand generic stuff. Wal-mart's $.25 cans come to mind. If you can bring drinks, please IM me. I will add you to the list. Also, if you want to bring your own goodies, pies (Steph), or whatnot...Thank you.
Most of you may remember March 2, 2003 when nearly 170 Volkswagens and Audis descended upon King of Prussia and Valley Forge, PA for the KOP-2 GTG. We had some official event sponsors, and we collected a ton of food for the Greater Philadelphia Food Bank and we all had a great time despite the bitter cold and the snow.
Well the time has come once again for everyone from New England, NOVA, DJD, Enfig, CEPA, PASE, DCI, German Squad, and anyone else that I forgot to come out to the Valley Forge National Historic Park in KOP once again for a day full of Food, Fun, and a good cause.
Unlike KOP-2, we have PERMISSION to use the park and will not get an "excessive congregation" citation. But permission to use the park comes with some rules that will be STRICTLY ENFORCED! Aside from the rules and regulations that are set forth by the National Parks Commission, I have some rules of my own and they are as follows:
- NO ALCOHOL or DRUGS.
- No Burnouts.
- No Excessive Speed.
- No Disorderly Conduct.
- No Fighting.
We will have a designated area (most likely the hatch of my car) for food donations. In order to eat the food which will be provided free of charge, you MUST bring at least 3 non-perishable food items which will be collected, and in return you will receive a "KEEP THIS TICKET" coupon for food at the grill. You will receive one ticket for every 3 items you bring. Due to the amount of people expected to be in attendance, I must limit the coupons to 3 per person. (Total of 9 food items for the food drive) Those of you who go above and beyond (20 or more items) will get free range of the food. Eat as much as you like.
If anyone knows a caterer or restaraunt that would be willing to donate either food or money so that we can buy food for us during the FOOD DRIVE, please contact them right away! Also, if anyone knows some performance shops who would be willing to participate. give them my contact info and we'll get something lined up.
Directions to follow. Until then, go to http://www.mapquest.com or http://www.mapsonus.com and enter the address above for the most direct route. Lets make this happen guys! The more food we collect, the more the community will welcome our presence. Many times auto-enthusiasts are looked down upon and I want to help change that. There are tons of families out there who can not provide a nice fruitful meal for their families on Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza and any other holiday that you may celebrate. So let the fortunate help the less fortunate in a time of need. It is appreciated and it is the absolute LEAST we can do. See you all at the ULTIMATE KOP GTG!
