OK. I'll pipe in with the official forcast for Waterloo, Wisconsin. IT'S #*$&%# COLD!!!

Other than that, would anybody happen to have a spare engine speed sensor (G28) for a MK3 2.slow? I THINK that might be the cause of my problem (car problems at least). I haven't had a chance to test it yet...I'll wait till it warms up a bit. But the dealership wants $$$$$ for one (non-refundable of course) and there must be thousands of them out there.

You mean the hallsender or crankshaft speed sensor? There's so many names for that ^%$&#* thing....I got two of them that work unitl the engine reaches operating temps, then they crap out. They are very easy to swap and at least you'll know that's what's wrong with your ride. I bought one from east Z vw and it was defective, $110 + to the trash

And one of these days I'll actually get to replacing my clutch... I have a Spec Stage 2 clutch waiting to go in, and a '73 Honda CL 350 needing a full restore that I planned on doing this winter, too. I guess there's still time.

I mean the crankshaft speed one. Although from studying the Bently it COULD be the Hall sender too I suppose . I'll try to get out there in the next few days and pull it and see what kind of resistance I get. Then I may take you up on it. As you say, at least then I'd know what was wrong.

Anything but heated, my friend. I wear double pants, two t shirts a sweater and a jacket. When I replaced the oil pan it was so cold I couldn't touch it with my hands, I had to hold it up with my elbow while tightening the 20 or so bolts that hold it.

Last night I finally ot the AC completely out, it was sweet!!!!

lol I did the Manifold swap in my driveway last week ... it wasnt to cold tho only like 20deg ... But having a corn field in the back yard we get some winds LOL YEHAW .. What sucks is now there is to much snow to go out and swap it back .....

A few years back my dad and I replaced the tranny in a jetta about this time of year. His garage was not heated - the whole swap took us about 3 weeks. We would work on a couple of bolts a night and then go back inside to warm up until the next day.

Saw a couple new dubs I haven't seen yet today. The first was a MKIII black GTI w/ Hella dual rounds.

The second was a silver New beetle w/ some sort of ram air hood, a humongous tach on the dash, and some sort of wing on the back.

Not too much.....interior is kind of stripped, body is very clean...needs clutch, has fn tranny (I have a good 2y tranny and new 16v clutch), has a miss I haven't investigated yet....runs and drives though...lots of new parts, and its very clean rust wise...
Was going to be a full blown project, but I have a short attention span, plus I'm getting married in a few months, yada yada yada...
So I'll sell it if I get the right offer....or fix a few things and drive it...

It has heat, not the strongest I've seen but it'll keep you warm....
IM with an offer and we'll see....I can't let it go too cheap, its worth more to me to fix it up a bit I guess...I don't know...
BTW...I have all the interior pieces and it doesn't come with clutch/tranny/euro injection..that's extra...

Just curious, if I recall my MK1 history, Rabbits from '79 on were made in the US (except for my old '79 Diesel Rabbit which was German made) and they went to the square headlights. Is this correct? And, more importantly for me, can a square headlight one be converted to the round lights? Just curious....I'd love a Rabbit Racer/project but, as noted above, my MKIII is a project enough

Yes they can be converted to single rounds with new fenders, grill and core support
