8 is always better than 4 among rednecks, or "hicks" as they are called up here but the 928 is a GT car, not a traditional Porsche sports car so it's just a gas guzzling oddball that has interesting and likeable styling. It was a great model for a more sophisticated Mustang or Camaro but it didn't fit the Porsche tradition. Same problem with the current Porsche trucks. Ugh.
They're all antiques by now, but the 924S with the 944 engine was a great car. 944 Turbos were awesome too and still favored by a lot of track guys. Just crank up the turbo boost Saab-style and you are at 400hp for the track. And the 968 is great too, if you can ever find one. I like the 944S2 convertible and saw one somewhere around here recently. What's cool about the 4 and flat 6 Porsches is that they make great daily drivers. I could get around 30 mpg with both of mine, driven respectfully. But I did go through a lot of fat rear tires at about $300 a pop for Porsche N-designation Pirellis and Michelins.

when I was looking I found a few for between 4-5k and with the budget I have for a car it doesnt matter, especially with with my work outlook for the next two years.
