Is it possible to bypass a safety lock and install this on tiptronic transmission?

for tip trans u can use any knob just drill a hole in the white plastic rod and a hole under the boot on a shift knob then all u have to do is pull up on the knob when u want to shift

as for your questions, here's the answer.
      1. It's not entire flushed, the picture might be alittle misleading. I can't find an picture offhand that describe the fitment, but hopefully the following picture give you some idea, that the HU does protude out alittle.

btw, I have hiedelburg, not hambug.
      2. the interior trim is VW OEM, can't recall the official name of the trim/style, but it's bronze in color, with some fish-net print on it.
The spring loaded adpter. That's a good idea, and it could save you a lot of money if you don't mind the look. But isn't that little white rod thingy( for lack of corect terminology) already springloaded? And does the oem **** knob fit in the recess on the shift rod. Haha and there is a lot of talk about knobs and rods so no homo

holy bump from the dead! j/k... no it does not. It's a small sleeve that slips over the shaft and screws into the little plastic shifter lever.

shift knob & boot sold separately

So.. Why is this tip mod piece needed for tiptronic transmissions? And if so, 60 bucks for an aluminum sleeve seems a little steep. There any DIY's on how to make your own?
