My thoughts exaxtly... I guess I should not have waited for my car to arrive before looking in to buying these....

I had a chance to try these out on a Mercedes S Class one weekend and fell in love with them...

Now that I think of it, maybe I might ask one of my relatives to bring me a Set from Germany the next time they come over...

      Tks 4 ur help guys!

What is special about these mirrors? Whats the deal with the line? I have the blue tinted ones stock on my VR6, how would these differ?

    14. 01-11-2004 09:50 PM #14
look a little closer to the left side of the mirror....
See the thin vertical line in the image? To the left of the line, look how the image seems to show a different 'view' (a little more angle).
That's the difference, the ability to see more of what's behind/next to you on either side of the car.

does anyone know if the OEM aspherical mirrors are both the same size, Pass and Driver?

Someone mentioned to me that they are both different, Drive is Std NA Size and Pass is smaller to fit the "Euro" mirror housing...

Capitalism So the vendors make a buck on these. God knows the "community" that "supports" them will group buy/free ship/pricematch everything it possibly can into the ground.

Aspherical Mirrors might be illegal in the US, but not in Canada... Mercedes imported some cars about a yr and a half ago with them... Only reason you don't see many any more is that ppl did not like them or found them hard to get used too.... I was able to take an "S" Klasse out for a weekend that had these mirrors on them and it was GREAT!

I don't know what kind of mirrors where on that Merc but they are illegal in Canada as well as in the US. CMVSS-111 and FMVSS-111 - the two mirror regulations in Canada and in the US - are virtually identical when it comes to passenger car mirrors.

That is weird, because it was not only one or two Mercedes with these mirrors it was quite a few... So what would make these Illegal? How is having a better view of whats arround you a bad thing?

These mirrors are great! I would drive w/o them now. They fit your stock mirror housing, they are blue-tinted, heated and aspherical. It took a couple days of using them to get used to them but once you do you wont want to drive w/o them. I'm suprised the price has gone up so much. I got mine from http://Hillsideimports.com

Just because its illegal doesn't mean is bad. In this case, it means the government has got around to changing the regulations. I have aspherical mirrors on my Golf too.

If you are interested we have a bunch of Hagus OEM quality left side (driver's side) aspherical mirrors for sale.
They retail for $50 CDN approx. $39 US.
You don't really need the passenger side mirror as much as the driver's side but that is everyone's personal opinion.

The special price will be $40 CDN approx. $30 US shipped to anywhere in the continental US and Canada.

If interested please contact andy toll free @ 1-888-806-7978

Here are some pictures for your reference
