My friend's yellow WRX sedan was stolen today in the TGI Fridays parking lot in Watchung around 1:00 pm. It looks stock except for a blitz exhaust on it (singe tip and its super loud you can hear it comming from several blocks away) and a defi 3 gauge pod on the top of the dash.Well, the full story is he pulled into TGIs lot and parked infront of a silver S4 wagon. There was a black dude behind the wheel of the wagon and he kept staring at my friend, but my friend didnt pay too much attention to the fact that this guy kept staring at him cause he was admiring the wagon(since they are fairly rare around where we live, ive only seen 1 in my life) so he goes into TGI and when he comes out his car is gone. A couple people around him said they saw two guys jump out of the back of the S4 wagon, get into his car, and drive off with the wagon following them. So my friend calls 911 and flags down a cop and they put out an apb for his car. So then a cop radios in that he saw a yellow wrx being followed by a silver S4 wagon in Irvington but they lost it.
The thing that really sucks is my friend just got a vf-34 turbo upgrade and some other stuff done not even a month ago and now it got jacked
So if any of you guys see this car around or a silver s4 wagon around(dunno how rare they are there) in that area I would really appreciate if you could im me about it. Its prolly stripped already but its worth a shot, thanks!
edit: he has a PA license plate: ECV-8456

Your the same guy that said you don't think "THEY" would not appreciate being called "brothers". So I figured, if you knew that, you knew everything else. Guess I was wrong. You know what they say. A little bit of knowledge is worse than none at all. Let me flip it.
Anyway, so the police called and said they saw the car and did not try to stop the guy because they were afraid the guy would take off and start a high speed persuit? Yup, that's what police do. The call and give a play by play. "Man, we almost had'em but, I know that WRX is fast so we let him go. Your theft story has major holes. Also saying it was a "Black Dude" was not cool. Even if the driver was black. You mentioned they were stairing each other down, like the wild west. For what purpose would that serve a car theif. And you wached all this happen; the stair down. And someone just happened to be waching the theft take place stuck around and told you the whole story. No alarms, nothing. OKAY!?
Hmm, sounds like your eye witness helped steal the car. Was the eye witness white. Try to be consisten throwing peoples color around

ok loveVR6, first of all, there have been car chases with the police before in irvington so im guessing they didnt wanna risk another one...heres a quote from this website http://www.nj.com/news/ledger/...0.xml ..."Six times a day in New Jersey -- 2,000 times a year -- police are involved in high-speed chases, often with devastating consequences. Of the 2,042 pursuits conducted in 2002 -- the last year for which complete figures are available -- 538 ended in crashes that injured 322 people and killed four." ...and you wonder why they dont want to risk one that could potentially prove fatal to innocent bystanders!?
second, dont be acting like im some racist kkk memeber ok! if i said the driver was white would u be making an issue outta that?...i highly doubt it. im not racist, i was just giving a discription of one of the car thieves that my friend saw and it so happens he was black...third, when my friend pulled into his parking space he saw this guy in an s4 staring at him. where do you come up with this stuff about the wild west? i quote myself from above: "but my friend didnt pay too much attention to the fact that this guy kept staring at him cause he was admiring the wagon" where did i say say they were staring each other down?...i didnt...fourth, i didnt watch this happen my friend saw the guy in the s4 staring at him...fifth, believe it or not there are sometimes people in busy parking lots. when my friend got to his parking spot, someone nearby that was walking to thier car saw some guys get out of an silver s4 wagon and into his wrx and drive off and told him about it. sixth, its not very hard to steal a wrx...1)lack of a frame around the windows makes it easy to pust the window in an jimmy the lock, 2) the remote only cycles throught a 15 digit code that is easy to pick up with a scanning device(my friend locked his car with a remote and the guy with the silver s4 prob did it this way) 3) if you break in and the alarm goes off you can pop the hood and cut the power line to the alarm in under two honks(believe me i know a guy that tried it cause he couldnt believe it was true), 4) once the thief is in if they rip off the plastic cover under the colum pod they can easily hot wire the car in seconds. wrx's are known for being easily stolen. given the fact that this happened at 1pm in a busy parking lot leads one to believe they were professionals so obviously they would be capable of stealing it without attracting too much attention.
Here is a list of 5 stolen wrx's and 2 attemped thefts of wrx's in and around the general area where my friends was stolen...

KKK thing hey that's on you. That was the furthest thing from my mind. However, if it made you feel that way, hell that's on you.

Ok, let's just make it simple. I'm black, and I do find it a little wrong that the guy had to mention the person in the S4 was black, but when he is giving a description of what went down, I don't see anything particularly wrong with that. Now, to the guy who said he was white, so he had no idea what was said, I take personal offense to. That is leading one to believe that all black people have poor grammar, and speak "ebonic." Just as where you live you have a certain vernacular, differing states/provinces have their own. If I use the word "dude", am I automatically a white boy from California? Anyway, I'm just sorry to the original guy who lost his car, hopefully they find it soon.

Well I don't see need for you to have mentioned you were white. Hell, I'm black, and didn't understand what he said either. The fact that you stated you were white, is kind of like me saying "I'm Asian, so I don't know about American cars". If you didn't mean it in an offensive way then cool, no harm done, and don't take my words as an attack, but merely as someone trying to understand why color always need be brought into discussions. I know some white people who are more grimey than black people, and vice versa. Underlying theme is, ***** who steal cars need to be shot, no matter what color their skin is.![]()

I understood your point, I was just putting a spin on your statement. I don't think your racist.
There are a lot of black stereo types out there, so when any "non-black" person makes a "blanket statement" like Rubba, "The black dude stole my friends car. Most inteligent educated black people will take offense. I can only respond to things that effect me and that did.
If anyone thinks I am so off base, why don't you cross post in the MKIV forum or the Audi forum and see what happens.

That's only the tip of the ice berg. Newark, Irvington and the surrounding area had more car thefts than all of california back in 1994. The movie "Jersey Drive" which was a car theft movie based on the car thefts in NJ was filmed and based on a true story of what goes on in the area. I had my radio stolen broad day light by the court house in Newark out of my old 86 GTI and almost got my fathers Brand New 16 Valve GLI Jetta stolen on another occasion. My friend lived in Irvington and I would hang out there back in the day. So I hate to say this, but a white person with PA plates in a yellow WRX in Irvington is not a good mix. I am smart enough not to stop in certain places so I got no problem sharing that with anyone. I also played in a football leauge in Newark and there were some cops on the team and I would hear stories every Sunday about the car chase from Saturday night.
Anyone see the video from "Naughty by Nature" the line says if you ain't never been to the Ghetto, then don't come to the Ghetto and stay the #@$% out of the Ghetto.
Hmmmm, I wonder what brought them to brick city, holla aaaaa yoooo, ya'll taking me back and I really don't won't to go there TRUST! I am to old for this.

Understood. I grew up in NJ and had my share of things stolen. It isn't fun, and man does it suck. But you learn to live and move on.
Although, I miss the street racing in Newark and Franklin Twp. I'll never forget that firebird from TK High Performance that was stripped and the owners nearly shot for cheating w/ nitrous when they should have been running all motor in high stakes drags.

I used to ride a NINJA ZX7 and my boy had a 900RR, he had mad wheelie skills. We were on our way to battle some riders in Newark in a wheelie contest. Well, the contest was deemed a tie. So we are on our way to NYC, to wild out and on the way there, my boy and the guy he battled decided the would break the tie by racing to the city by way of the Lincoln tunnel. Well, my buddy flipped his bike before we could make it to the city. He was okay and road back on my bike. The guy he was racing crashed that same night into a taxi cab doing a three point turn while the guy was doing a stand up wheelie.
My family keeps me in check although I can't comment on all that happens on the streets. Nothing good comes from racing on the street. trust me on that one

sorry if i offended any black people, i was just trying to give a discription and didnt imply any racial hatred or anything demeaning towards black people.
my friend usually goes to north plainfield to visit a friend, i dunno how he wound up in watchung.
for the person who asked y my friend would buy a car he knows is so easy to steal... he didnt know how easy it was to steal when he bought it, he only learned about it after surfin nasioc for a while. the super ironic thing is that he has a utec and it has a security feature like that of revo, apr, giac that will not let the car start when its enabled, but he didnt have it enabled...he is now kicking himself in the a$$ for it lol
so far he has heard nothing about it so hopefully something will pop up in the next week or two. thanks for all the bumpage guys!
