I just got back into it. Never stopping riding, but not really serious BMX for a while.
I got an Eastern Jane 24"(NLA). I thought I would just cruise around and jump stuff here and there. But now I'm looking at a 20", and getting more technical...![]()

Today I put a LiveStrong band on my bike to show my support for my friend with cancer and for the great cause that the LAF is...The bike looks a whole lot diffrent then it first was when I started the thread. The more recent parts are FBM bars, new Primo seat and Primo Rod seatpost.

My brother in law is in Louisville, KY right now at the NBL Nationals.I've been riding on and off for the last 3 years. My bike is a very early 1980's Patterson. I haven't been riding recently because the frame has a broken weld that needs to be repaired. =( Nothing horrible, it is ridable for everyday, but it isn't broken all the way through, so I don't want to chance it, especially since it is such an old frame. Plus, it has some sentimental value, as it was the frame that my Bro-in-law raced on when he was in jr high and high school.

Quote, originally posted by Long Duck Dong » Is Hutch still even in business and does Oakley still make grips? Anyone remember the Oakley 3's (ugly grips with wings) Yes I do! I had them!
Your old bike brings back some memories. I last raced BMX in 1983. I went to Woodward BMX camp during the first year it opened for BMX. No big vert ramps or street parks back then. Just one BMX track! LOL!
Hutch is long dead and while the name still has great brand recognition, apparently no one is willing to assume the debts associated with it to resurrect the brand.
![]()
Doh! Forgot to add my bike(s). I still have my BMX bike from the 80's: a '82 Schwinn Predator with very little left stock on it. Has a Hutch stem!

The current BMX ride is a Gary Fisher Lush Rush set up mainly for racing. I ride dirt jumps on a hardtail mtn bike set up for Dual.

Funny, I was just thinking of posting, but thought against it because my last bike was a Patterson (suh-weet!
), and who the heck would remember that name. I sold the bike around 1990 to pay my car insurance on an 83 Buick LeSabre
