My neighbor used to have a baby blue GT performer identical to the pink one above... I can't believe someone threw out that priceless gem!
.Man, I got involved with racing around 1988, and did this for about eight years around Canada, mainly Ontario and Quebec, even made it to the '94 Worlds held in Waterford Oaks, Michigan (didn't do well at all). Finally just got tired of it as my dad was really involved with the local track (Track2000, Milton ON), and the politics involved really took the fun out of it.
I stupidly sold the last two of my bikes last year in need of cash, a '02 DK General Lee and my 2hip Stoutboy setup for flat. I am really regretting that now
. The bug has bit again, and a friend hooked me up with his old General Lee frame and fork, and I am slowly rebuilding it, actually picking up a Redneck stem from another Vortexer today
Now all that's left is a wheelset, cranks, and headset
I forgot how much these parts cost!
Here is the list, I have gone through a literal ton of BMX bikes:
- Supercyle/CCM garbage bike (first race was on this tank)
- Redline 700exl, or something along those lines..
- Free Agent junior (stolen)
- JMC junior
- Homeless "the Mack" first "real" street frame.
- Free Agent Pro
- Cyclecraft Cruiser
- Mongoose Expert Comp
- Parkpre Team BMX (sponsorship through the Cyclepath, hated this frame)
- S&M Challenger
- 2hip Stoutboy
- DK General Lee
Now back to the General..... I can't wait till it's built back up again!
Graham.
