    Thread: Hotel Partys....

    1. 04-07-2004 10:43 PM #1
I know half of the fun going to a big event like this is the night time hotel partys. I myself have partaken in these wild and crazy times. However, I have noticed that people have taken the hotels' patience for granted. I know the hotel we were at last, there were cameras on every floor. By the end of the weekend, they were all stolen. THAT IS NOT COOL!!!!!!! Come on people, get some class. Who ever did that SUCKS!!! That is the reason why it is getting harder each year to get a room for Waterfest. Another thing...right before we left and checked out on Sunday, somebody took a dump in the elevator. That is just wrong. How would you feel to be the guy that had to clean that up?

Now, don't get your panties in an uproar and call me the Fun Nazi. Cause I'm not. To tell you the truth, the cops didn't seem to mind the burnouts all that much. But when hotel crashing and vandalism comes into the picture, then they become buttheads. I would too if I were a cop. Drinking-fine. Do as much as your heart desires. But don't throw bottles all over the place for people to run over, or the maintenance people to have to clean up. There is enough for them to clean after the whole event. Just throw the bottle in the garbage, or just throw it back in the package it came out of.

If everyone put in just a little common courtesy, we would have a much easier time of getting rooms. Not to mention the prices would go down a bit, and people would simply have more fun.

Yeah, theres nothing wrong with partying, but lets keep the vandalism to a minimum. We do want Waterfest to continue happening, but with some of the childish stuff that occured its making it harder and harder each year.

well said. i am truly sick and tired of the stupidity. this year will be my 7th waterfest, and if it's anything like last year, i'm not going to bother going back next year!

it is very pathetic how immature some people can be, and its even more pathetic that their friends cundone their behaviour.

....fire alarms at 2am...that was NOT cool

This is going to be my first Waterfest and I sure hope people aren't going to be as stupid as it sounds like they were last year. I love drinking and I love partying all night long but there is no excuse for some of the stuff I have heard went on last year. That stuff is just plain stupid and ruins it everyone.

very well said. I remember you from waterfest 96' proudly displaying your ticket on your dash. That was one of the best waterfest's I've gone too. There was no burnout, no little kids not knowing how to act. It was just a bunch off car guys/gals having fun without being idiots.

I didn't even go last year, mainly because of the way the hotels got. I'm going this year, but i think I may stay at a hotel off the list.

I didn't mind the burnouts, but I could have done without the rest of the retardedness.

I'm not down with trashing the hotels. Truth be told the cops don't mind us drinking in the parking lots, they can almost tolerate the burnouts and such, but wanton acts of vandalism, pulling fire alarms, and generally trashing the place is where they draw the line.

I think as Waterfest fans we need to be a little more proactive about not letting our fun get too far out of control. It's only a matter of time before it all gets taken away if we don't smarten up.

The first Waterfest I went to was cool, because we drank our faces off, painted the parking lot with rubber and everyone had a good time and didn't have to wreck the hotel to do it. These days it's like yearly one-upmanship in terms of how many times we make the police and fire depts show up.

All that being said, I can't wait !!!!!

Let's be (somewhat) safe out there this time guys !
