200k on a tdi is nothing. that thing will last forever.

replaced the window regulator on my wagon this morning. Not as bad as I thought. Biggest pita was lining up the splines on the new gear and motor without a hand. With my wife it popped right in.

I only have 65k on my 2001 2.slow. Plan for timing belt and tune up this spring.

Supposed to be 77käfer, but there are no umlauts on an american keyboard

Overheard on 27 June 07, one lady to another when they saw my Harli in a parking lot at West Point, "maybe he found it on the clearance aisle at the Volkswagen dealer"

What product is best if you are going to self primer the rear
Rub strip. I have the front done and the sides and the rear that won't fit in boxes if I could make them match I'll do the work but if there isn't a good product then I will send them
    Both back

    Thanks

But they had to pay for that.. Original sticker on that car in Europe at the exchange rate back then was $32,401. (oddly enough in the year 2002 the exchange rate was around 1 to 1 for the whole year) At todays exchange rate, that same 2002 Bora Highline variant would run $43,627.

Yea I know what you mean on new sticker price. My 04 1.8T GLS sticker was $34,000 when I bought it. I paid less than that though.

Do they use the Monrony in Canada? They don't use it in Europe, there is a book called Die Preisliste, and the price variation is not much different from the book. Believe it or not, a decently loaded car stickers less here in the states than it does in Germany.
Out of the last 4 Bundeswehr Colonels, stationed here at West Point, 2 returned to Germany with brand new Passat Variants which were purchased at Lindsay VW, Dullas Va. (1 of the other 2 retired here in NY, the other I don't know about)

Actually, I just remembered what the deal was with the 4th Colonel, when he arrived from Germany he shipped over a brand new Polo and Sharan. I remember that he was almost unable to register them. Then he found a sympathetic DMV manager in a different county who allowed him to register them only after he promised to take them with him (pronounced: signed an affidavit that he would ship them back to Germany upon PCSing after 3 years).

The combi of alcantara a 6 trans and 96 kw TDI is also in the Netherlands not very common. In the Netherlands there are not very much Bora Variant, there more Bora Sedan. And the options on each car are very different because you could buy them sepertly (i hope you understand my bad english )

Johanva, no problem with understanding your English, did you buy that car new? Or did you just buy it recently?

Thanks for the sizing. I was wondering what size to use....my fronts are 215 and not tall enough.
My wheels are also 8.5 and 10 widths.

Here's a quickie of my whip... bought my 2003 1.8T in 2006 and am still loving the hell out of it. I seriously see myself driving it for another 10 years.

I know some of you have to have wood flooring in your wagon. How did you do it? And do you have any pictures? I'm curious as to the materials and methods you might have used

For the record I don't have a wagon but plan on getting one.

    Thanks!

    For the Wagon lovers:
Up for sale is my 2002 MKIV Jetta Wagon with lots of upgrades and parts as you will see below.
I am only selling it because I would like to go back to a GLI or something else possibly. I have owned the car since November 2007. At the present time the only thing I can think of that the car may need in the near future is a starter. Every once and a while I hear it drag when I start the car. Besides that there is nothing it needs. I have been told it most likely just need a good cleaning and some lubrication.
The interior has been taken car of. There are no rips or tears in the leather. I also have Beatle Head Rests installed.

This car has been very well taken care of and for the most part has been garage kept. I am an adult and drive the car as such. This is the 5th MKIV I have owned so I have performed the all the work listed below myself.

I may be interested in trades so let me know what you have.

From your picture I see a DC plate. You should sell yours and buy my wagon. I am currently just outside DC and work in the city daily.
