So now that most of us are here. What happens next? Just wondering.

      By the way -
Ramon, did you ever install that rear valance?

Yes I did install the 4-motion rear valance and what a pain...lots of cutting and I had to bring it to a body shop to do a complete fill-in (you know what I mean). Looking very good though!

Been really busy at work but I'm in !!!!

      Peno, Shock, Convallo..

BTW, what year did the Jetta Wagon appear?
The 2001 model year was the first for North America my friend. And for 2003 they got that big ol' ghetto booty of a back bumper to meet Canadian crash standards. Otherwise they've remained pretty much unchanged, except for a revised center console and instrument trim. No more GLX Wagons after mid-02, and now no V6 powered models at all.

Looks just like mine except for the oz wheels, tint, hatch spoiler, and exaust. I even have the clear front marker lights, thought they went really good for not being a big fan of them!

Greetings all - some fine looking cars in this thread.

I'm a potential Jetta Wagon owner in the semi-near future. Are there some resources out there specifically for wagon owners? I have a bunch of questions, mainly along the lines of what colors, engines, and options were available in what model years. The handy search button is not being too helpful.

      Thanks

Is there any lip that will fit under my big rear bumper?

Since noone else seems to be coming forward, I'll give you the info I know and hopefully others can pick up from there. Anyone correct me if I am wrong.

Jetta Wagons started being sold here in the U.S. in '01 with the same options as the Sedan (TDI or 2.0L GL; TDI, 2.0L, 1.8T or VR6 GLS; VR6 GLX) in '03 the VR6 was dropped and the rear bumper is longer to meet Canada crash requirements.

I drive a wagon... even if you beat me, can you brag about it?

Pesky Vortex gremlins didn't accept my reply the first time.

Anyhow, thanks for the info. Pity they dropped the VR - just not enough sales? I'm not sure what engine I'd want yet, but I was leaning towards a GLX for a daily driver and travelling. I intend to hang on to my GTI for a weekend fun car and autocross wannabe. We shall see.

The bumper issue is puzzling - I thought that the Canadian standards were less stringent than the US ones. Or does that only go for emissions?

are you planning a golf front end swap?? badge kinda threw me off there for a second... a Golf Variant/Estate would be cool though. you should get a european hatch too.

So I got this guy here in Tx that wants to do a front end swap with me......
Has anyone tired to sell a Getta? Can you?

there's no such thing as a Getta Wagon-

it's a Golf Variant or Golf Estate, whichever suits your fancy...

The Jetta/Bora wagon is the same exact thing as the Golf wagon, minus the front end and the badge on the back. In Europe there were some engine and other options that were different- but if you were to do the swap in the states I really don't think anyone will care as far as resale goes...

Gettas are jettas that the front ends have been swaped with a gti, or golf.

The serial numbers do not change.....getta, and Jolfs are just the names people call them by

this all may be true... in the tuner community and when applying to hatchbacks and sedans.

but when it comes to the wagon/variant/estate it is either a Golf or a Jetta- not a Getta or Jolf.

this is all symantics... but it's true.

      FarFromWerkin,
Is that a Pzwo rear wing or Caractere? Looks sweet.

BTW while im posting this....does H&R make their new rear sways for our cars? I know that its available for the sedan but its not listed for the wagon on their site. However, Parts4VWs has it in their wagon section so im a little confused.
