Brag...he he. Did ya hear about the time I started 17th(last)by
draw. When they threw the green I was on the back stretch, passed
three cars before the flag stand, another 2 before turn one.Chewed
up the whole field and took the lead on lap 26.At the checkered,I had
a commanding lead and had lapped half of the field.

After that race the officials wrote in a new rule for Bumble Bees.
"No passing before the start/ finish line on initial green flag"
    That was my first win

    Next car

I'll travel to one Outlaw race and run a 100 lap Open in my new car.

I lapped a 240sx with the 2.4L 16v DOHC motor in my little 1.8L 8v GTi.......check out the pics from the link in my sig line!!! If someone here could figure out how to post the pics direct here that would be awesome! I also started next to last in a 50 lap race;the guy who won started 3rd in a Prelude, even with a badly bent tie rod end I still managed to finish 2nd!!!

    Kitten,
The silver rocco isn't mine anymore. It was claimed 2 years ago.I stoped building Bee's when the Mains went from 30 to 15 laps.
I'll have a Rabbit in mini-stocks as soon as I get some calipers and tires on it.

oops, did I say tires? ...I meant to say tars.

I just got done having my number changed from #16 to #20.More appropriate for the paint job;don't you think??? (lmao). Also my motor is almost done. Will post new side pics when I get a chance.Found a bad tie rod end, wheel bearing & strut all on the RF corner.More work to do! I love this bumper sticker I found & promptly placed it in the back window of my "tow van" :
DRIVER CARRIES NO CASH;HE OWNS A STOCK CAR
Not much work done on the Mk3;the Mk2 is taking up all my time right now.
Hey aggrodriver;how about some pics of your new race wabbit???

Sounds like tons of fun, I won the feature my first night on the track and then the next weekend I won again. My Golf dominated the dirt track until the crash, pics in previous post.

I'm curious how I guy from Olympia Wa had his car at Evans Mills Speedway, a few miles N of Ft. Drum NY which by the way is now covered with clay and called Thunder Alley? Maybe you could come to Adirondack International Speedway 25 miles S of the former Evans Mills Speedway, the Busch North guys will be in town on the 31st of July and you could run your 4 cylinder against the fastest 4 clylinder race cars in NY! I'm new to Vortex so maybe I don't understand the reply system. but the post is from WA state and the track is in NY

i think that we will have to raise the ride height as this car has been lowered. i have no idea what is done to the engine. we'll have to put a muffler on it as all it has now is a trap....it is pretty loud.

so what does the added weight and chain on the LR do? is this to keep the car from diving on entry? keeps the left rear on the ground?

for the track that we will run at, you are not supposed to modify anything. i know that some of the other rules are pretty goofy... must have a working radio (audio, not racing radio), must have complete dashboard, working 3rd brake light and the passenger door must be fully functional.

are there any of the suspension parts that are difficult to find or are they readily availible?

    thanks

Wow, so you guys need to be pretty stock. The weight will keep the car from transfering all the weight to the right of the car. It's like riding an ATV or a snowmobile, you lean to get better turning. The chain is to hold the suspension still so there is no body roll. (All of the weight will go to the left front) The Left rear will probably be about 4-5 inches in the air in the turns. What are your tire rules? I run 195/60/14 Falken Azenis tires on the right side. They are about $50ea and they make a world of difference. Then I run another 195/60/14 on the left front, about 3/4 inch smaller than the left front. and the left rear is the stock 175/70/13. It works well. But some tracks dont allow a-symmetrical tires and all tires have to be the same size.

we are limited to 195 max tire width 70series smallest. i think we can run upto 15" wheels. the wheels are to be stock.

the idea of this class was that the cars are able to be claimed for 300.00 (add 150 for cage). they are supposed to be cheap, stock 4cyl cars. i am not sure that they are teking these cars thoroughly as i know of one car (94 or 95 neon) that has at least 2000.00 worth of hopups in his (my friend, who works for a dodge dealer, sold him the parts...LOL). the class was supposed to have a 'gentlemen's agreement' to not spend more than a couple hundred on a car.

we'll see if they say anything about this one. we are just trying it out to have some fun at first. we wanted to get a street stock for next year, but this is much less expensive (so far).

what brand/tread have you found to work best? are these falkens availible in 70 series? someone told me that the blizzacks (sp?) are super soft but only last about 5 nights.

    thanks

    craig

I'm not sure if they make these Azenis' in a 70 series. But I've also run good year wingfoot tires, those work pretty well. Also try some Pirelli's or even a rain tread tire. if that neon keeps pounding you guys, then call him on it and claim the car. That'll show him. How big is the track you guys are running on?

i should say that we will be racing on a 1/4mile asphalt oval. it has very tight corners with long straights. we have not raced there yet. it is one of the tracks that we frequent as fans. i have always wanted to race and my buddy wants to get back into it.

i think that when a car wins, the following week it starts on the tail. the neon won a couple of times, then he was a marked target. some of the guys are always trying to door bang him. they all know that he is cheating -- even the track. the track starts him in the back weekly -- even if he did not win the week before. i don't think that he won at all the last quarter of the season.

here is a link to the track divisions:

    http://www.illianaspeedway.com/Divisions.html

as you can see the 4cyl cars are bone stock.

what track do you race at?
