wow that looks real good mittmj.....that's the 1st Mk3 I have seen made up into a racer what are you using for a motor?

stock 2L 8v from the car, stock injection, stock everything. Car does good. Kinda heavy. Currently im high on wieght and not sure where to get rid of some.

now if they could just move the fence and the pole i would be much happier

then comes my request to move the sun too much glare in the eyes and the camera..........gotta love all the VW's that moved up out of the enduros (still my favorite race) and into a "proper" place with the mini stocks .

unfortunately i can't.........it is usually the highlight of my summer having my niece and nephew out there to see all the cars.....nothing makes a 8yr old happier then sitting behind the wheel on a car he saw go around the track.......this year i have a bd party to attend back home here in NJ.

That's my Scirocco, it used to belong to my best friend Tim (Scirocco61) When he passed away last year I was given the car by his parents. I only raced it 2 times last year, took 5th and broke. This year I have run 3 times, 3rd place the first race, wrecked the second race and 5th last week (I lost 4th by half a fender, the guy blocked me for 15 laps). I just set the car up for this coming saturday, it should FLY!

I live in Oak Lawn, but dont' really race at Illiana (been there a few times). I'm not a big fan of the short track.

we race at Plymouth, Mottville, Rockford, Jefferson, etc.
pick up an old rabbit ....they are super light , handle well, and parts are cheap.

alright ladies and gents. i want to drive a vw next year at a local track in the 4 cyl stock class.

heres a short list of what i can do


Engine: (must adhere to the rules)
engine must match year make model.
must have stock internals
stock feuling

car itself:
suspension must stay stock
wheels must be stock.


any help would be greatly appreciated. im going to get the official rulebook for the track. and for you wondering what track its lebanon valley speedway in eastern upstate ny

not far enough away to keep me from coming out to watch a few times.what VW generation & model are you considering? I raced a Mk2 golf for quite awhile before I picked up my Mk1/G2 Rocco,so I have alot of exp. with the Mk2 chassis.you can pick my brain for vw racing stuff anytime;I will PM you with my contact info.plan on having lots of fun!

it will be next season, we are thinking about a mk2 gti with a 2.0l 16v. going ot try to do alot of research before starting this venture. the honda kids are saying that vw's dont belong on a dirt track and that all we will do is go backwards against the 9k rpm asian cars.
