Early update, found some time to work on the flares today. Takes a bit longer than I anticipated to smooth them down completely. Getting there...

Update- My daily driver A4 lost a control arm today and when I was backing it off our flatbed trailer, the clutch let go completely. So much for my $ and time to get the a2 done.I was originally planning on painting this weekend but it looks like I'm doing some major work on the a4. I'll update when I get to work on the a2 again...there has been some progress made.

Update-
The front K frame is in the car now and the manual steering has been swapped over. It's back in the garage for the final body work and to change over the rear torsion beam and run all new brake lines. We'll have to see how it comes together over the week.![]()

Another update- I'm planning on moving to Palm Springs, CA for the winter at least to live with my brother and help him with his new mortgage. I hope to drive this car out once it's back together but we'll have to see how this project works out.

Side note- I took the coupe shell to Bolduc's in Middlesex, VT and got a cool $6.80 cash for the scrap metal. Went and bought myself a 12pack of soda... wikahd hahd cowah.

More parts came in the mail- angle rings for the gauges, exhaust cut out that bolts to the downpipe, and a few other little items. For those that have the atp 3in downpipes, which I'm guessing isn't that many of you, the jegs 3in cutout comes with flanges that match the atp downpipe flange.

hey Andrew, heard you might be moving to Cali. When you do your A4 clutch let me know and I can mail you that printout, also I just did one the other week so if you run into any walls dont hesitate to ring me up. Hope the Jetta keeps making progress and if your around this side of the country next season and things go as planned you might have some (whoosh whoosh) competition.![]()

Nice- I'll probably need that print out for the A4... but no hurry, I still have to buy $500 in updated control arms so I can do it all at once. I'll keep in touch- probably will end back up on the east coast for WF next year even if I have to fly back and it looks like I won't be out of here until after my birthday/Thanksgiving.I haven't had any time to work on the car lately... been helping other people out in getting some of their projects going. Anyway, I took a half hour tonight and cut a slot for the stereo down where the ash tray is normally located in an extra center console I had laying around. Looks ok and it will open up a spot for 3 gauges up top as I'm opting to go back to the mk2 dash for this one.

I'm currently in the process of shaving my engine bay (nice job on yours by the way) and I'll be starting the fenders next. I'm wanting the look (aproximate size) of flare as the stock rubber unit in steel, did you use cut offs from steel fronts on the rear?
