The boxes (containing my DVDs) are Lekman boxes. I covered them with black paper and adhered some pictures I took. My ultimate plan is to print large prints of pics at Costco and put them on the other side, so I can change the look when the mood suits me.

Picked up a craigslist FOTD tv stand... looks like something from best buy, got it for $50, no dings or scratches. Moved the room around a bit, sorry guys, the center channel is back on its side until I build a new one this spring. The THT is still hiding around the corner and shaking the place. The TV is still nice and bright even in front of the windows. And the sound field is nice and even on all sides now.I need to find another place for the awesome ikea fishing pole lamp... but for now it's a hat for the TV.

Yep. Paradigm makes an incredible loudspeaker. I heard these at a demo right after they came out and was floored. I was overjoyed when I had the opportunity to add them to the room!!![]()

it's an Offi table. You can get it from:

kdeering - what component rack are you using? does it have cable/power management? I'm looking for one, it seems middle atlantic is the best option to include those features.

Let's just say that if I come home with the pair of B&W 805s that I've wanted, for the past 15-odd years, I'll hear a lot more "background noise"...but its ok to spend $4 on (4) 4oz. containers of Haagen Dasz, instead of $4 on the big half-gallon size, or $2,000 for a weekend in Seattle "because they have a nice restaraunt"?

Especially since the new 805's are $2200 MORE ($5000 vs $2800) than the last gen, buy a set used on Audiogon and save some coin!! They made big upgrades to them, but they are completely out of my price point now...
#653
I am using a component rack that AV123 used to sell. No cable managment though. Middle Atlantic builds outstanding pro racks with great management, but they can be pricey. My rack is a make shift solution that gets the job done, but there are better options out there.

G@dD@&!n! They went up "AGAIN"? I was lookin' at spending $2,800. F%*k them 805s!

Seriously though, $5k for 805s, non-Nautilus, I'd start lookin' at some old skool 801s.

It saddens me to think what "a year's worth of meals" could do for my system. B&Ws and a Pioneer plasma could be downstairs just gettin dusty by now.

I believe the cabinet will be different, and the tweeter is now the diamond series tweeter, supposedly they made a large amount of upgrades to the speaker. They will be out in April, I'm going to demo a set when they come out.
At 5k though, I'm also considering a few others - Sonus Faber Cremona Auditor, Dynaudio Confidence Monitor, Focal JMLab 1007 BE...

I began purchasing SD's because they are so damn cheap. Picked up a ton of old movies for 1-2 dollars that I really love. Newer movies I tend to go for Blue Ray.

I love the room. Very jealous!
1 question: You have spend a ton of time and skill getting acoustic panels setup correctly etc, yet the equipment tower is right next to the back seats, and a couple of feet from the front seats. Doesn't that introduce a ton of unwanted sound? Are you planning to have it behind a door at some stage, or just turn up the volume to hide it?Thanks
