I'll try to get some more pics from him. His new sub literally caught on fire(Elemental Designs A2-300) so he's still shopping replacement hence the empty space to the left of the left channel.

      His setup:

      TV: Samsung 61" DLP | AVR: Pioneer Elite VSX-32 | Fronts: Infinity Primus 250 | Center: Infinity Primus C25 | Rears: Infinity SAT 450 | Blu-ray:BDP-S350 | DirecTV: HR21-100 | XBOX 360 Slim | Wii

well... it's been a never ending process for this...

my girlfriend has been for the most part okay with my hobby... and after last nights showing of serenity on blu-ray, she is very much okay with this

      started out with this

100" 4:3 screen with an ox pro series projector

      then i picked this up
optoma GT720, 720P short throw projector

it wouldn't fit on my old screen, so i had to get a new one (darn!)

unpacking (was interesting getting a 9 foot long box around corners!)

      Favi 120" 16:9 screen

that was just a test run to see how the screen looked (was pulled down too far)
the video looks like crap from the camera (droid, cracked lens, crappy photos anyways), but here are some screen shots from the same projector (untill i can get my camera in there for actual shots)

i had 7.1 in the room until i flipped it around, now it's only running a 5.1 setup.

i'll get some better screen shots soon, just thought i'd post them up for ya'll

My latest version. Pulled this lift out of a client's house years ago and decided to finally use it. Kinda ridiculous, but so am I.

      Fire:

      Viewing:

Now that its working, need to make it look good. All gear is in a rack in adjacent room, turntable will be where cable box and junk are...

^^ That's cool as hell. I do drywall in a lot of new construction and everybody has their TV's mounted above the fireplace and it's just too high. That's a great solution.

Any more pictures of the lift?

x2 I took my tv down from above the fireplace just for that reason. But now it blocks my fireplace

Bose 401's? I had a pair for the longest time. Kind of wish I still had them.

Funny about those...yes they are 401s. I have Polk Audio all around except those. I had RTi A5s for the fronts. Everything was been in storage for about the past 5 years and I hated the RTis just sitting so I gave them to my folks. Well, I finally got this house and set everything back-up...but THEY wouldn't give my speakers back!

Anyways...I found these 401s at a Goodwill for $20 and thought "what the hell." Well, short story long, they sounded good enough and balanced well with the rest of the system so I haven't even thought about stealing back my RTis.

Thanks. Put a lot of work into it...sort of.

The projector is a BenQ from Texas Instruments. I think it's a 660a and it is DLP. It was a pretty cool find at the Goodwill auction site. Picked it up for $50.

Great deal for $50! BenQ is a brand of Acer (nothing wrong with that). TI likely only made the DLP block.

Replaced my my 32" Sharp Aquos (LC32DA5U) with a new 55" Samsung 7000 Series LCD set. Best Buy's deal was too good to pass up, so I jumped on board. My Monitor Audio R225 center channel speaker is a bit too tall, as it covers up the bottom 1.5-2" of the screen. It's not pictured as I'm only running 2-channel setup at the moment.

Planning on dumping the Tascam 122MKIII tape deck and relocating that little amp to my office for keyboard duty to clear up the visual clutter. Just picked up Gran Torino on Blu Ray for $4 at Safeway- can't wait to try out the set.

98" Greywolf screen w/ Optoma Projector

5.1 PolkAudio speakers (ignore the towers. They're only there for aesthetics and not connected)

      A Cave pic

Rum makes any movie a Great movie (almost)

And starting to move some stuff around in the upstairs family room....for my daughter

      New projector today

Going from 3,000 contrast to 40,000 is an eyeopener .

Almost went for 3D but the 3D cables for 50' are retarded expensive .

I am quite impressed with the new projector !!!

= not my photo but exact projector and silver base instead of white

my 50' HDMI cable was $150 2 years ago .

between that , needing a new Bluray player
and the 3D projector being $400 more
and the glasses and the 3D blurays being more just seem more of a hassle.
