Where is the closet VW friendly dyno for a fair price? I'm looking to get a baseline number for my current setup as I'm doing some mods this winter and looking to see what I get out of the new setup

Glad I revived the thread.

Another question for you guys. Despite the fact I've been "local" here for 3 years, I haven't swapped my PA tags on the MK3 for Maryland tags. I think I'm pushing my luck here at this point (the school cop brought it up the other day) and back home (no inspection stickers on the new windshield and they're starting to ticket hard across the border).

Does anyone have a mechanic who will take a look at a modified car for an inspection tag? The car is very mechanically sound - suspension/steering refresh 5k ago, new coilovers 10k ago, tires are between 5/32s and 6/32s, no exhaust leaks, lights are all OEMesque (clear ecodes), turbo doesn't belong there, but it all looks pretty OEM and the CEL only pops up on occasion due to the high flow cat.

I want to make the plunge to MD tags, I just need some help with the inspection. Help a guy out?

Ive allways rocked pa plates lol md cant give you any fix it tickets plus no front plate dont give up the pa plate

I kept my Maryland plates when I lived in Georgia. I still have my Georgia license. A state trooper ticketed me and told me to change it. Harford County Sheriff ran my plates and saw I didn't have a license so he pulled me over. Told me he pulled me over because I didn't have a license, asked if I had one, then asked to see it. Gave him the Georgia license, he asked if I planned on switching, and didn't really make a big deal out of it when I said I like the Georgia license. I know I technically should get a Maryland license, but I think some cops care more than others do. One of the guys at the Subie meet had Alaska (I think) plates and the State Trooper just asked him if he was that dedicated that he drove all this way to stand in a parking lot, lol.

That's exactly the problem though. Some of them don't care... some care enough that they look back when they don't see a front plate... some care too much and have actually turned around to follow me. I don't want the find the cop who's out to prove a point and give me a ticket and notify PA so I quit getting my registration renewal paper work at my parents.

I've got a few leads, we'll see where it goes. But any help from you guys would be very appreciated

I am also curious. NGP seems to be quite busy, and I always find out about dyno days after the fact. I have a 2.0 that I'll be putting a mild cam into this November, and an old Porsche with a motor swap; I can only guess within 50hp how much power it is putting out. In my wallet, "curiosity" and a 2.0 probably wouldn't warrant the full price of dyno runs.

Okay everybody. Because we usually wait till the last minute to plan our cruises. It is time to discuss the cruise to h2o NOW. The majority of us are going down on Thursday. And there was some talk about leaving around 9am on Thursday. But where from??

I was thinking meet at the Chesapeake House (rest stop) on I-95 North.
And hopefully leave there by 9am to start the drive into Ocean ****ty!!!

No way it will make it to h20i in this condition. Im in need of a new axle and in need of grinding my current frame notch down, notching the drivers side, and notching for tie rods.
