Maybe I can have the headgasket in the Caddy replaced bt then.

This thread definitely gets the "Most OT" awardHopefully we can swing a GTG by the middle of January, it looks like the Tower Records ones are pretty dead for the winter. I'll roll up to Funchester for nostalgia's sake and meet with some dubbers
Another place we might be able to meet is the parking lot by the duck pond in Jim Barnett/SU campus. It's right around the corner from Sheetz in case anyone gets hungry, and it's out of the way so hopefully cops won't come around.

Okay, I just got finished makin' the arrangements. If everything goes according to plan, I'll be picking up the 'rocco Friday morning...just have to find the best route for getting down to Mass. Ave. with a big-ass trailer.

Which end of Mass Ave? The north or the south?

I think I'm back in school the 16th or so, but a jaunt down 81 is better than the route I take now (29, 64, 81) so I'd be down for a meet "on the way" back to VT![]()

So Sunday the 16th? At 12 PM? At the duckpond parking lot or Pargo's?

Doesn't matter to me. I'll put it in the book for noon, but might only be able to stay for an hour or two. Anybody that wants to roll down 81 with me is welcome![]()

Lemme look at my map here. The UK Embassy is up in NW...gotta get past security to pick up the 'rocco.

In that case, I would take 123 (Chain Bridge Road) thru McClean, across the Chain Bridge, right on Canal St, left on Arizona and then over to Mass. Just my thoughts. I go to Sibley Hospital in NW once a month for a project meeting.

Hopefully, traffic will be lite on Friday morn.

So did everyone have a good Christmas? What's going on for New Year's in Ol' Winchester?
#128
For New Years you should try old town. Freeze your butt off, eat some Moose Tracks ice cream (like it helps your thaw out) from the little shop on the corner, watch the ball drop and then run to your car to thaw out. It's lots of funyou should try it

is there any place in winchester that i could get some bearings and races packed and pressed in some new zimmerman cross drilled rotors i just got?
#132
Unless you are replacing the hubs as well as the rotors, there is no bearing/race replacement involved. Your rotors are held in place by a little set screw and your lugs, all you need to do is pull your wheel, remove the set screw, and replace the rotors. The set screws may break when you remove them, you can either use an easy out to pull them and replace them, or you can do like I did and not replace them at all. This becaomes a bit of a pain because you rotors won't stay lined up with the threads in the hub, so it will be a bit more difficult to put the wheel back on, but it's not that big of a deal. If you want some help with it let me know, we can work something out.

i meant replacing the bearings/races on the rear rotors...and i one of my front rotors is already missing that set screw...heh.....somehow the set screw got screwed directly into the hub and doesn't even pass though the rotor at all....so it spins freely as i try to put the wheel back on....i don't plan to put them on til around spring time sometime since the car is setting with no insurance right now and i still have some other goodies yet to arrive....thanks...
#134
Cool, I have never done the rear rotors on a MKIII VR car, I didn't realize the bearings were pressed into the rotors. I will ask around and see where a good place to have that done would be.
