Great, I am hoping to fit the stalk today, so maybe next weekend we can arrange to meet somewhere to get the coding done. Will PM you once I have it installed. Thanks.

So far my project is on hold, discovered I don't have a T8 screw driver, typical, I have everything else, but not that. Hopefully I can track one down locally at Autozone or something.

    Scott's rant of the week:

"Modern cars are too flipping complex. A fella should be able to buy the parts he needs, and tackle a timing belt job without having to take the whole freaking front end of the car off. Just to get at the lower pully, which is like 4 inches from the radiator. If I didn't owe so much money on this cursed Passat, I would sell it in a heartbeat, and get an older Mercedes or another MK3 V-dub, WHICH PEOPLE CAN ACTUALLY WORK ON. And don't get me started on the leaking vent valve on top of my gas tank, which prevents me from putting more than 8 gallons in, and which is ABOVE THE REAR SUBFRAME, making a repair a very time consuming and/or expensive proposition. I'm a busy guy, working late most days. Yes, I could do these repairs if I took the car off the road for several weeks, just don't have the time. Guess it is going to cost me, thank you VW, thank you for making me realize that your heyday ended sometime around the late '90s. No need to shop for a new one anymore, I'll just save myself the trouble."

Thanks George, I wouldn't have taken the car in to 5-star except for you!

I'm thinking of selling my GLi
2009 with 33,000 miles. Original owner and it has all the bells and whistles (including iPod and Bluetooth) but not Nav. Bone stock!

    $18k (or a reasonable offer)
    Please pass it on

Turbos = engine pull, and the stock KO3's are guaranteed to fail. Mine has 144,xxx on them and the driver's side is spitting out some oil, but no whining yet. Luckily I'm now taking the bus/Metro to work everyday so the car isn't a necessity if they decide to die - but still a complete PITA to replace.

I've been considering selling it and just getting a toy car, there are too many of them running through my head right now to decide on one, though.

    Videos from today's shuttle flyover:

Shot from Arlington Waterfront, right across from the National Mall. The sun screwed up my phone on the first video but it still turned out alright.

Unfortunately, no. The B5 S4 wasn't punishment enough, so I'm going for the pinnacle of VAG complexity/cost.

Year or two probably. I was thinking about how you, richie, neil, and tyson are never on here anymore, we'd be up to 1000 pages by now.

Well here, let's just talk about Mustangs some more. I'm picking this up Saturday morning in Nashville, TN.

2010 GT500. Hellion "Hellraiser" kit (Twin 61mm, ball bearing Turbonetics turbos blowing into the stock Eaton supercharger). Still on the base boost/tune that the kit comes with, dyno'd 737whp/776wtq on 93 octane. Has a meth kit installed that isn't being used. With a cleaned up tune, more boost, and some meth it should make quite a bit more.... this same kit has put down 1024whp on a car running E85 (Which may be an option soon as more and more E85 pumps are popping up).
